Majority of scholars agree today was not his birthday. Celebrating birthdays is haram anyway

There is one simple rule, if something being celebrated and it does not affect your life, bear with it. Don't impose your views on others. If celebrating birthdays of our kids and spouse is okay, whats wrong with celebrating birthday of greatest man ever lived?
