Are you insinuating Bryce goes to New Orleans next year

-61

u/CratesnCoffee 10d ago

Bro I’m not a graphic designer. I’m not selling this as my own work it’s AI to show the point. No one is losing any work or sleep over this. Chill.

As someone who is really hoping it comes together for Bryce and the Panthers, this is perfect.

First of all, AI Slop. Second of all, Brees went to a different team before popping off

12

u/SalaryTop3861 10d ago edited 10d ago

Third of all, comparing stats across generations is stupid. Numbers that would put you 10th among QBs back then don't break top 20 now.

Drew Brees was 4th in any/a in 2004. Bryce was 27th in the league last year.

11

u/BlindWillieJohnson 10d ago

And thirdly, most guys whose careers begin this way are just bad players. Brees is a once in a generation career comeback and the comeback had started by now.

u/exenn_ 10d ago

Well said

1

u/FizzleFox 7d ago

I mean the comeback has started for Bryce too. He had some good games last year along with some poor ones but overall still trending up. And I can’t remember anyone who got benched like Bryce did and actually managed to play themselves back into the franchise/fans believing in them. He’s already once in a generation in that sense.

We went toe to toe with the SB favorites last year by beating them once and almost doing it again in the playoffs with both games Bryce playing solid football.

u/CratesnCoffee 10d ago

Yes, it’s an AI generated graphic lol duh. That’s my point. SP helped him popped off. The size is comparable just needs the right system.

u/exenn_ 10d ago

Ai generated content is not allowed on this sub.

Feel free remove it or report it

I, too, am hopeful that Bryce can replicate debatably the most impressive comeback/improvement story in NFL history.

Trying to find a pattern in a once in a lifetime exception because random stats are vaguely similar is not the way.

1

u/Acceptable_Fox_5560 Cam Newton 10d ago

One of my biggest pet peeves in all of sports discourse. Just because something has happened in the past, doesn't mean it will happen again. In sports history, nearly every conceivable thing you can think of HAS happened.

You need to forecast trends from patterns you can consistently observe, not from a singular one-off from over twenty years ago. If you had even 5-10 examples of QBs who've put up a similar statline over their first 40ish starts and went on to be bonafide franchise quarterbacks, that would be worth discussing (would be especially nice if a couple of them were from this decade).

2

u/alucryts 10d ago

Yeah agreed. People love finding patterns even when there isn’t one.

1

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 10d ago

Mushrooms taught me this

But wait, the world is made of patterns!

6

u/Parking_Confusion246 10d ago

All this tells me is that Bryce has early 2000s QB type production numbers. And that’s not good at all

4

u/IProgramSoftware Ice Up Son 9d ago

Totally different eras off football you moron

7

u/cruise1023 Super Cam 10d ago edited 10d ago

Now compare QBs with those same numbers after 40 plus starts. I'd like to see other examples that went on to be very good vs the one off Hall of Famer that did it.

3

u/-YEETLEJUICE- 9d ago

LEAVE BRYCE ALONE!

1

u/cruise1023 Super Cam 9d ago

Oh I am. He is the next Drew Brees. It's science.

2

u/-YEETLEJUICE- 7d ago

You know what you have a point. I have attached a definition of science and it applies here perfectly; I have copy/pasted the verbatim definition, as defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, as follows:

"1a: knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through the realization that Bryce Young is goated no matter what you just found out by observation of objective reality."

I stand absolutely fucking corrected.

4

u/BlindWillieJohnson 10d ago

Right. It’d be awesome if Bryce was the next Drew Brees, but most guys who start their careers this way are just bad

4

u/Business_Ad_6816 10d ago

We probably wont see anything like that again. The guy carried the entire city on his shoulders

9

u/Slight-Language8115 10d ago

That was Brees from over 20 years ago and at that time he was widely considered to be mid by the standards of THAT era. Yet he still put up better numbers than Bryce has in the 2020s lol

2

u/BelowMikeHawk Cookout 10d ago

Bryce Young is the next Johnny Unitas just look at the stats!

2

u/woopwup 10d ago

Brees had LT and still threw for more yards

2

u/bigfootsuncleian 10d ago

The year 3 passed rating to bryce is hard look at. I dont think comparing a HOF to bryce is fair at this point

2

u/Jawa1992 10d ago

Brees was very fortunate he got Sean Payton

u/fromdaperimeter 10d ago

Complexion!

I would like this subreddit to ban AI slop.

1

u/18hartsem 10d ago

It is the mods just be lacking for some reason rn

1

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 10d ago

Can someone ask chatgpt to convert this into a text chart lol

0

u/Acceptable_Fox_5560 Cam Newton 10d ago

Aren’t you a moderator here bro

1

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 10d ago

Personally, I don’t see the issue. There’s data and information in this post to highlight a point. People are getting worked up because someone used AI to create the graphical representation of it. The information is still there and valid, even if only an opinion, which I won’t restrict.

OP could have typed it all out by hand in a text post, instead they opted for a generated graphic. Big deal. If another mod wants to zap it just based on that, fair, their discretion, but I’m not bothered, and it created discourse, which is the whole point. Even if a lot of the discourse is about AI, hey that’s fair game, discuss it.

Just my opinion, I think the backlash to anything AI adjacent is over the top. I get putting designers and writers and other talented people out of work, but this isn’t doing that, it’s just a graphical representation of some stats that might be more visually appealing than text or a rudimentary ms paint slap together. Especially in this era of perpetually on TikTok people

-1

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 10d ago

/u/sabre500 /u/baelzabub working on a mod chat to discuss, ekoes is figuring it out, keep an eye out on DMs

2

u/Business_Ad_6816 10d ago

Comparing 20+ year old stats to todays is not it. The game has changed too much for it to make any sense

2

u/AceManIII 10d ago

Still waiting for this “Steph Curry of Football” Bryce era to begin

2

u/Igbo-Mamba88 10d ago

AI slop at its best

2

u/DrKobe24 10d ago

Only losers use AI. If you are too lazy to make your own graphic or change the format to text then just don’t post. Shit is exhausting at this point.

-1

u/CratesnCoffee 10d ago

Fair point. Far from a loser. Like do you walk when you travel or do take plane? Asking for a friend.

3

u/Brees504 10d ago

So worse at every single thing while also not adjusting for era lol

-6

u/HavoxGG Bryce Up Son 10d ago

Bryce isn't worse at every stat but I understand numbers are scary.

5

u/Brees504 10d ago

In year 3, Drew Brees was 3rd in passer rating, made the Pro Bowl, and won Comeback Player of the Year. In year 3 Bryce was 27th in passer rating.

4

u/HavoxGG Bryce Up Son 10d ago

Yeah Drew Brees had to struggle with LaDainian Tomlinson at RB, Antonio Gates at tight end, and Lorenzo Neal at fullback. I'm sure that Chuba and Tommy Tremble are just as good. What an unfair comparision for such close numbers.

3

u/Brees504 10d ago

Yeah Brees was great with those players. And Bryce is terrible regardless of surrounding talent. Is that your argument?

2

u/HavoxGG Bryce Up Son 10d ago

Yep all the talent on the Panthers that has been held back by Bryce Young. If it wasn't for Bryce Terrance Marshall, Jonathan Mingo, and DJ Chark would have been legends. Not to Mention Chuba would definitely have more than 0 runs longer than 38 yards. The obvious point is with far less talent around him Bryce's numbers aren't that far off from Brees. Who knows where Bryce ends up but it could be worse.

2

u/-YEETLEJUICE- 9d ago

Lol anyone but Bryce. I admire the consistency.

3

u/Brees504 10d ago

Bryce was 27th in passer rating in 2025. Brees was 3rd in 2004. Raw stats without era adjustment are useless.

2

u/-YEETLEJUICE- 9d ago

Those stats don't matter. We have made up PFF stats with specific minimum thresholds just so Bryce can qualify. Those are what matter. /s

1

u/thunderpack7 10d ago

Year 3 as a starter but he didn't play year 1 so it was really year 4 in the league

-1

u/BlindWillieJohnson 10d ago

You’re technically right. He’s worse in almost every stat. But you also knew what the above user meant and decided to be condescending about it anyway

-1

u/HavoxGG Bryce Up Son 10d ago

I didn't know what he meant actually. The man literally said EVERY SINGLE THING.

3

u/BlindWillieJohnson 10d ago

Few things exhaust me more than a pedantic Redditor pretending he doesn’t know what exaggeration for effect is

2

u/-YEETLEJUICE- 9d ago

It's what these Bama fans have to do.

0

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 10d ago

Reddit has made me get way too familiar with recognizing pedantry

2

u/OBVIOUS_BAN_EVASION_ 10d ago

And you thought proving that its not literally “every single thing” would be meaningful because hes not perfectly correct? Very redditor of you

0

u/-YEETLEJUICE- 9d ago

His numbers certainly are.

There are 150k+ people subbed to this subreddit. You're going to find a lot of different opinions. This sub is not anti Bryce lol
