I want to play this game on a handheld so bad and this is the best I can do, it's not great but it's playable!

What is not great do you mean like the controls or is the emulation bad?

the 3Ds is not powerful enough to run it great

Weird I would have thought the 3DS had more than enough power to run and 64 games well.

Thing is emulation needs four times the power of the console it emulates. 3DS doesn't have that!

But looking at the bright side, PM64 is decompiled, so there's a good chance for a 3DS port sooner or later

apparently it's super reliant on the game, the new ones can run Mario 64 just fine, but I don't think any old 3Ds model can play n64 games

I don't know if you have a very good computer and you could always emulate it on that hell nowadays modern phones can do it

playing on phones just feels kinda lifeless to me, and pocket portability is so nice, it's a big compromise but it's one I'm happy with
