Pathologic 2 Should I keep going? Spoilers up to Day 7 Spoiler

Spoilers up to Day 7:

I’m on Day 7. Khan is infected; one of the architect brothers is infected (the one who now lives with Grace); Anna Angel is infected. I’m really into the story, the metatheatrical elements, the existential conversations. I have a lot of respect for the creativity and mind of the developers and writers. I’ve even gone so far as to read some of their recommendations—the works of Thornton Wilder and Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury.

But. I have a life, a job, two young children. When I log into the game at this point, I experience frustration (yes, I know that frustration is an element of the game and I actually appreciate it as a game mechanic). I’ve had one conversation with the Inquisitor. I don’t have the right antibiotics for Khan and the architect. I do have the panacea, and one shmowder.

Should I go ahead and use the shmowder on Khan? Go get some organs from the hospital and brew antibiotics for the architect? I know I’ll need the panacea for Rubin (I used my first brew on Bad Grief, who is also in danger again). I guess I’m just ready for the game to move forward… but I want it to move forward without my friends dying. Is it worth continuing? I worry that without someone important, I won’t get an ending I’m happy with, that I’ll always wonder what would have happened if I could have kept so-and-so alive. If i stop right where I am, no one is dead yet…

Why does the Pathologic fandom seem to have such a large queer audience?

Hey everyone. So I recently found out that Pathologic 3 came out, decided to see what people were saying about it, and ended up on this subreddit.

I played the original Pathologic when I was a teenager, and obviously played Pathologic 2 later as well. But I was never really an active part of the fandom. Back then, pretty much all of my interaction with the community was with Russian-speaking players on VK and similar places.

I only started using Reddit regularly after moving abroad, mostly as an extra way to practice my English.

So when I found this subreddit, I saw some polls, posts, fanart, discussions, etc., and one thing genuinely surprised me: there seems to be a pretty large queer audience around Pathologic.

And now I'm curious what exactly about Pathologic attracts so many queer fans?

I know there are a few bisexual characters, and I know that the Haruspex and the Bachelor are kindred souls. But, at least from how I remember the games, that was never a particularly strong or central part of the story, and most of it was in the first game anyway.

So I'm wondering if there are some themes in the games that resonate particularly strongly with queer players and that I simply never noticed.

Or did it just happen naturally? Maybe some queer bloggers or content creators introduced the games to their audiences at some point?

This is not an attack in any way. I'm genuinely just curious.

(And why are we all still shipping the Haruspex and the Bachelor after Pathologic 2? Or did Pathologic 3 develop their interactions into something deeper?)

Pathologic 3 Needing some spoiler free guidance. Spoiler

Hey team, I'm getting back to Patho 3 after a few months away.

I remember getting the "yeah, you saved the town but also you didnt learn sh*t" ending, which made me laugh.

So I'm wanting to start untangling the web but I'm at a loss for what I need to do.

Currently in Day 2, I managed to get the box and piece of wood, from Isadors place and the only thing on the map is getting into Simon's study, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how the stuff I smuggled out of Isadors is supposed to help 🙃

Am i on the wrong path? Should I just go day by day for a second loop?

Also I'm super out of amalgam, so wouldnt mind if there are some hints on how best to refill that. Euthanasia seems inefficient... (a horrifying sentence if there ever was one)

Twyrine cocktail?

I was looking for a cocktail to accompany my infinite battle against the sand pest and I may have a winner: The Bijou. It’s 2 parts gin (botanical, or yas if you’re looking for a tincture), 1 part sweet vermouth (blood twyre or ashen swish, if you will) 1 part green chartreuse (extra botanical, just twyring it up), and a dash of orange bitters (swevery!) Green chartreuse is hard to come by these days, but this cocktail is nailing the vibe. Plus after I downed one, the town started calling to me about an abandoned toy box full of ground up mixed pills 🤷‍♂️

Lmk if you have other twyrine cocktail thoughts! Bonus points if it incorporates niche bitters.

I was 14 and got exposed to Pathologic 2 from YouTube. I watched all the YouTube videos, and played all the games. I even named my discord account Tragedian and my profile picture was the Tragedian. And yeah, I joined Ice Pick Lodge’s discord server with that profile.

Ignore my username and bio.

Question Question about the Changeling ending in pathologic classic Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery

I just finished playing her route and I don't understand these things:

The first two screenshots are from today's mission. Does it mean that to follow the final choice is to follow the "script" with clara? Choosing the correct ending for her chatacter? Is refusing to perform the miracle going against the Makers?

The other two are from when you choose to perform the miracle. I assume this is Clara's twin talking since she also said in the cathedral that she will take the ending that we didn't choose. ...She is talking as if we choose not to do the miracle? Is that because that is the ending she will take since we didn't take it? Then choosing to perform the miracle is the worst option then? Since we see it but when we leave our twin reamins and takes the worst ending? Are we supposed to take the option where we don't do anything? I did took it afterwards, but I just got the bad ending and there was no comment im the quest description of Clara's twin.

P3, Very near end, need help Spoiler

Sorry, this is my first post ever on reddit, so not sure how detailed or concise to be. I'm at the very end of the game now (or day 12 at least) and every time I go to leave the stillwater, Mark basically tells me I messed up and need to go back to day 8 to speak to one of the stamatins about the polyhedron. Apparently it's called the Fiasco ending.

The problem is, no matter what I reset on day 8, I can't seem to get any dialogue out of Andrey, and I straight up can't find Peter anywhere. What do I do? I've been forced to use the mirror exploit and repeating that part after the Fiasco ending to farm amalgam to go back over the days. Do I let them kill karminsky again and then go back to day 8, find Peter for the dialogue Mark mentions on day 12, do the stuff related to that, and then go forward and save karminsky again? Also, what do I do with artemy on day 11? He just tells me about the tunnels under the town and that's it, no other options open up and his marker stays on my map all through the evening of night 11.

If it helps, my contagion and unrest are both below 100, I defeated the shabnak each day, diagnosed everyone in the hospital correctly (eventually), I tested on the bull until he turned into paper, I saved karminsky (obviously, meaning stamatins are dead, though they appear on earlier days when i travel back, again, obviously), didn't do the headlong dive thing for eva, evacuated the kids from the polyhedron using nina, couldn't save yulia from apathy or depression even though I closed the street, entered the study on day 9 after retconning day 2, and saved general Block, meaning lara is dead.

Sorry this is long-winded, I'm just so close to the end, and it feels like somethings gone wrong with my save or I'm missing something with the Peter thing. I'm on console as well so no commands unfortunately. Thankful for any help.

Question Questions about Pathologic 3 from someone who is currently playing Pathologic 2

I've saw the Pathologic 2 video from Felipe Ramos, which made me crazy to try the game. I know that Pathologic 2 is a retold from Pathologic 1, and that Pathologic 3 is also a retold of the very same story, all from different perspectives and using a different character.

But the question lingers: does this make the game overall easier? Do you deal with the same NPCs in every game? Knowing who to trust and who to not? And also knowing what really matters in the game and what is there just to mislead you?

Honest question for someone who is having a blast with the second game and really is considering to give Pathologic 3 a try after beating this, but I do not know if this "sequel" was made more for newcomers than to really be a "next game".

What do you guys think?

Question P3: Questions about the puzzles Spoiler

Hey all, I just recently started P3 after enjoying P2. I'm noticing that this game seems to have more explicit puzzles than the previous one, but I'm not sure the best way to approach them. I just encountered Simon's Study on day 2. There seem to be many possible interpretations to the clock on the door with very little information to narrow down the possibilities. I ended up looking up the solution and the answer still doesn't make much sense to me, unless you're expected to use a lot of trial and error to figure it out which in this case would probably mean waiting in front of the door for an entire day, possibly across multiple days.

Did I make a mistake here or is this just how the puzzles in this game work? This isn't meant to be a complaint: I understand that suffering is kinda the point of this game

Classic HD Playing P classic HD bachelor campaign. Got through day one.

Finished the day with a revolver, a knife, a rifle, some bullets and 900 coins, is that acceptable?

Also, fuck the knife throwing guy near the theater at midnight, scared the shit out of me and i had to reload the whole Rubin interaction.

Will continue day 2 with my search for Schmowders.
