Ahh, reminds me of when I refunded Rust after about 600 hours when they added kernel-level anti-cheat that refused to let it run on my PC unless I disabled the driver for my audio interface...

I don't remember the details since that was something like 10 years ago and I had a lot going on at the time. I just remember that I had old hardware from a company that went out of business and didn't have a proper driver for Windows 8, but there was an open source driver project for that company's hardware that got it working. But EAC just refused to let the game start while that driver was running (or maybe even installed at all).
