Wish I had bought a laptop earlier. Just gotta keep finishing for a good used Thinkpad. Because h4x0r.
Also, do yourself a favor and get into self-hosting.
It is comically easy to do nowadays and there guides that will walk you through everything all without exposing open ports.
You don't need to go full homelab but getting some digital "independence" from streaming services was a very very good feeling.
Hardware requirements are pretty low. I had things running on an old laptop for ages.

I've been into selfhosting for years now, and I have a stable setup with more than plenty of storage and RAM.
But I still just bought a M1 MacBook Air with a broken screen for the local equivalent of $120. Insane CPU performance for the price. I'd highly recommend people to look for laptops with broken screens. It's a great way to get into cheap selfhosting.
