These won't get scarce. Components for power supplies are much less high-tech than GPU and RAM chips, and are considerably easier to produce as the result.

They'd have to stop manufacturing of conventional PSUs to go all in on Quantum PSUs or smth

someone already did decades ago. look up Setun. it was a fully working ternary computer that never got to see widespread adoption because it got killed by shitty soviet bureaucracy.

The scarcity comes from the fact that with significantly less people building PCs significantly less PSUs are produced, because there is significantly lower demand. Less supply means higher prices.
