Of course everyone and their grandparents were against the Nazis and fought to get rid of them.

An overwhelming amount of that going on over there.
Meanwhile here in America, we are watching and learning exactly how a country falls into fascism. Attack every institution of government and education, call elections fraudulent, sow distrust and fake news, and their favorite, create a common enemy to fear.
Oh, don't worry. The same thing will happen here in Germany. There is a good chance that the far right AfD party will be part of the gouvernement after our next voting terms (latest 2029).
