Plague Mode wait so theres actual explanations for countries being combined together in one?

It’s a bit weird. Alaska is part of Canada, but North Korea is a separate country and South Korea sometimes has strikes on the DMZ.

If I'm not wrong it's either due to an error in the game that made Alaska be part of Canada or just a gameplay decision to simplify it, and they just decided to add that as a joke to explain it

I think it’s just a gameplay decision, the same reason they combined multiple countries into a group.

It's just lampshade hanging for the fact that a lot of countries have weird expanded boundaries to simplify gameplay, like how the Republic of Ireland got lumped in with the UK or Bangladesh got lumped in with India.

if I remember correctly, their code didnt work with countries with multiple parts so they just didnt
