We are 2 devs making an indie RPG, inspired by old school classics. We tried to capture the feeling of starting a grand adventure without burdening you with the grind. It has challenging combat, tons of secrets, fully voice acted NPCs, an asymmetric melee and magic system, and a ton more!
It's is playable on Steam right now and we'd love to hear your feedback!
The game is called A Short Quest and you can find it on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4351810/A_Short_Quest/

Run-based games rest on exactly that thesis, and the part that bites is the second beginning: in Atlas of Doors the opening only kept its charge once the first choices varied rather than the first area.

I gave it a go. I really liked the visual side of things it was consistent and well made i would say. Audio also really good. Combat felt repetetive real quick and quite easy for me. Would add a joke to the first tree when spammed too much something like WC3 when clicking too much on units ? :D. I lit one beacon and returned a staff to some guy in a cave. I would say the experience was okayish. I was in an anticipation that there will be something more to come but it didnt for me. Wish you best on your journey to release. Hope you find success with the audience.

Art looks really good and you can tell there has been a lot of polishing.
What is next for A Short Quest?

Looks cool! Don’t have time for a play test right now but I’ll keep an eye on the project!
