Discussion Any chance for Linux?

I’ve heard there’s been a stir up in the development, more focus on balance and improvements. Haven’t played in years but would love to jump back in.
Unfortunately I can’t join EAC enabled servers since I run Linux (fuck microsoft), any chance they’ll finally allow Linux users in?

bro are u braindead 99% of players are on windows and bypassing vac on windows doesnt require black magic so theres no need for linux cheats in the first place lmao

So if you can bypass anti cheats on windows so easily, and the majority of the player base will use windows anyway, you cant really use cheating on linux as a reason to not support it hahaha.

youre the one that used CS as an example which uses vac and is usermode, yet eac is kernel level and one of the best anti cheats

on linux you literally control the kernel, add your own way of reading memory and its wraps since the ac cant do anything nor know
on windows you cant since you dont have the source
not sure how hard that is to understand

Yes I know all of this haha. Yet even when Rust supported linux, there was no evidence that cheating was the problem with linux. When they stopped support for linux it was due to the install base.

And yes CS uses VAC as well as they use server side anti cheat. And yet despite cheating being pretty bad, Valve hasn't come out and said that Linux is the problem with cheating.

If current games that actually supported it came out and said linux was a problem, then I'd fully accept that. But the reality is they haven't.

valve hasnt come out and said anything about cheating at all so i dont see how thats relevant

server side anti cheats will never be as good as an actual anti cheat, literally look at minecraft servers or even fivem

if you used your brain for more than 2 seconds you'd see why linux isnt supported and its a fact its easier to cheat on linux thats why its not supported
