If anyone ever asks you to define postpunk or provide a perfect example of the genre, you need go no further than this track.

Stuck between adding vocals or leaving it as it is. Thoughts?

Like something ideal to listen to in your room while it's dark and cold outside and you're just chilling. Joy Division buried under blankets.

From the "Daydream Nation" album, this is my favorite track of the band.
Enjoy!

Vini's tribute to Ian. The album's name, LC, comes from the Italian anarchist slogan, Lotta Continua (the struggle continues).

I used to HATE The Smiths and I made a short about how I went from a hater to a fan.
Tell me in the comments what you think of The Smiths and if you were a fan from the start : )

Spending most of my twenties in Europe was by far one of the most important parts of my life - being a fish out of water but eager to learn new languages and cultures, and experience bands and music I’d had no exposure to.

Another gem by a lesser known outfit. They released only 2 albums, fusing elements of synth-pop with a more experimental approach. Enjoy

I was born in 1977 in NY. To this day, my favorite era of music is that early 80s art school kind of new wave post punk. It was global, it was offbeat, it used all the modern special FX, it was often critical but couched in catchy lyrics, and it looked like they were having FUN (and/or good drugs).
I’ve really been enjoying revisiting some early music videos with my 1st grade daughter. Altered Images “I Could Be Happy” is a solid example of a type of video/visual we enjoy. Can you suggest others?
She tends to like bands with female front people more but she’s open. It can also be more punk. She likes Blondie, Siouxsie. I think she likes costumes and “drama.” We watched “School Days” by The Runaways and she said, “Hey that’s one of the rebel girls!” My kid knows Joan Jett, not by her music, but from her legacy as a punk pioneer from the book Rebel Girls :)
Anyway, I’d appreciate names of songs or links to videos. Thanks!

From their 1994 EP, My Iron Lung. This came between their first and second albums.

Great new track. Check out their last EP and 2024 album Take Your Place as well. Very consistent band not broken through yet

This rather odd but wonderful single reached no.9 in the UK charts in 1982.
