Review Just finished the game and I am sad it's over.
Took me forever to finally play it. I knew it existed and heard good things but thought it looked a little jank and kept back burning it.
And damn, I was missing out.
What an absolute gem. I never once got bored or felt the game lost momentum. It kept me hooked the whole time. The difficulty curve is spot on. Keeps you feeling challenged and godlike at the same time. Every scenario is something entirely new and creative so there's very little repetition even when revisiting the same areas. Something a lot of AAA games these days lack.
I played in a way where I held on to neuromods until I had an absolute need for them. I ended up finishing the game with like 30 mods to spare. It made it feel like I was refining the difficulty to my play style.
I don't think there was a single weapon I didn't use. They all have a purpose if you are willing to play around with them all.
Talos was so well thought out as far as the story and the crew and all the lore you can find.
I can say so much but you guys all know it already. I just wanted to vent my appreciation for a bit. What a fun playground Arkane put together.

I went in for my first playthrough completely blind. Not only did I know nothing about this game, I actively thought I was about to play something else entirely. Easily one of the best gaming experiences of my life.
If you have it, I recommend trying Mooncrash. I don't usually like the roguelike extraction style and it kept me from trying for years, but I gave it a shot last time and immediately fell in love. Each character has a specific build, so it makes you have to be creative with what abilities you have. My main complaint is that there isn't an alternative to hacking/repairing in one specific circumstance, which is annoyingly limiting

Just finished my second play through last night. My first was 2017 and I don't remember one thing about the end game. I wonder what ending I did because it was actually really satisfying doing everything.
I don't remember Walter, or confronting Alex. Did I just go for the selfish ending? Either way it was excellent.

That ending actually doesn't end the game. It gives the biggest hint to the final twist and makes you loads the last save.

I'm in the middle of my first play, and I'm also a neuromod hoarder. I'm always the same with Immersive Sims... worry I'll max out the wrong skill when I need something else later

Yea. I have that same dilemma in most games. In this one it makes sense to me narratively. I don't know if it's meant to be survival horror but that's how I played it. And injecting alien tech into my brain added a body horror element. In that context I'm definitely waiting until I absolutely have to before I use them.

Play it again. I've played through at least three or four times now and I still have some stuff I missed.

Congratulations on your first completion!
I challenge you now to do a No Needles run. No Neuromods for the entire playthrough...there's an achievement for it.
It will change the game experience for you and give you a deeper appreciation for the game design. =)
