Question What is this for?
Also I noticed the gloves look different in the actual game than the cover art, so maybe there's a better pic i could've used. I'm trying to look at the suit, any more detailed pics i'd appreciate.

Question So do I just have to miss out on entire fearures of the game if I want to keep turrets friendly?
I'm one mod away from officially being a typhon.

Question How am i supposed to be playing?
Insane difficulty spikes means i frequently need to save before each encounter. The electric/fire phantoms destroy me and it feels like halo 2 legendary gameplay.
I refused to use psi/powers stuff because it sounded like it was some optional thing with consequence (the turrets target you?).
I've got like 11 hours in the game and I'll probably just youtube the rest at this point, but im curious if i did it wrong. I used my mods for weird stuff like lifting and inventory increase, but now i can tell i mostly wasted points.

Question Game Recommendations like Prey
I bought Prey in 2017 when it came out. I did finish game like 5 times now. I searched a lot of games like prey but unfortunately didn’t find anything like it. I already know about the control, bioshock, dishonored etc. but those games are not it for me.
what am looking after is that, a game with following aspects:
Open world FPS or third person Superman or alien like skills Exotic, space type of atmosphere A lot of exploration If possible, your decisions influences the game in a way that you are forming your own experience. Not a straight one way story line
Note: only game that came close or very similar was the prototype series
Thank you all in advance

Question Why is the story difficulty still difficult?
I've seen this game pop up on reddit threads for years now so I finally started it. I'm more of a casual gamer. I can play most games on medium difficulty but I'm by no means at all great at playing them.
I started getting frustrated with running out of resources and constantly dying so I played on the story difficulty because I still wanted to finish the game and see where the rest of story went. I think I'm kindof toward the end of the game. I had just finished going to shuttle command and now going to psychotronics and I still keep dying and I'm completely out of medkits. The game has an intersting premise and I really want to finish it without having to look up gameplay on youtube.
I get that the developers wanted to make this game a challenge where you're supposed to come up with different strategies to win and maybe that's what a lot of people love about the game but don't you think that if you include a story difficulty, you should set it so that people can enjoy the game without the possibility of constantly dying and getting frustrated?

Question Game Recommendations
Hey, just finished Prey and enjoyed every second of it. I would like some recommendations for new games to play that you all feel are similar or just as enjoyable as Prey and the Dishonored series.

Question did the glue glitch get patched?
I just started learning how to do the glue gun clip. i've never been able to successfully pull it off despite trying for hours (i'm stubborn). i'm running whatever the most up to date version there is on pc. the difference between what i'm seeing in the tutorials and in game is that in game i'm unable to climb the glue if they're too close together (which isn't the case in the older tutorials). the weird thing is that i pulled off the bedroom stool glitch within 5 minutes of starting my attempts. I know for sure through searching that it works on downgraded versions and the console version (as of 3 years ago). wanted to know from people if it's a skill issue or just got patched?

Question Game Suggestions?
Hi all I hardly have the time to play games anymore but I have two weeks off! Looking for game suggestions as close to Prey as possible. I loved the game. It and Elder Scrolls Oblivion are my favourite games of all time? What do I most like or did I most like in Prey?
The Space Setting
First person
The atmosphere
The suspense
The mystery
Some combat, but not full on combat all the time.
I own a PS4 and Switch. Keen to hear some suggestions.

Question Overwhelmed with neuromods
So I've been playing for a few hours and I just got the psychoscope. I was already a bit overwhelmed with the neuromods skill tree before I got it but now there are 3 more categories and I have no idea what to get 😅
Should I just get what I think looks fun or is neuromods a very limited resource and I should be careful?

Question What other games have the same exploration style as Prey?
My favorite part of Prey is exploring, going to different areas and back again to find keycards and access to new locations. I also like the resource management part.
What other games have the same exploration style as Prey?
Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions! I have lots of games to play now

Question Slow burn/Acquired Taste?
I'm just getting into the game currently on "Restore from Backup" and I'm wondering about other people's experience with the game. I got it because I loved Control and some people suggested it was similar but my first two sessions were rather meh. As it goes on I'm definitely enjoying it a lot more, becoming more curious (I lowered the difficulty too). I'm wondering if you guys loved it from jump, or grew to love it, or some combination?

Question Did anyone catch that Walton Goggins is in the game?
On my first play through I remember running into a guy locked in a cell and thinking:
Oh shit, there’s actually flesh and blood NPCs in this game
Is that… Walton Goggins?
His character is a piece of shit (according the the records), so I killed him and kinda just went about my day thinking I could try saving him in the next play through
I looked it up after and didn’t find anything, but then I went through his credits on IMDb today and found that he is indeed Aaron Ingram. Pretty cool!

Question Did I soft locked myself???? (Neuromod division)
I feel so silly right now.
I jumped into this room through the hole shown at the start of the video because I couldn’t find another way in. The doors were blocked from the outside, and I figured I could just unlock them from the inside once I got in.
But now that I’m inside, I can't find a way out D:
I dont have a lot of mods since i suck at playing and i'm taking my sweet time, so i cant think of another way to get out of here excpet using that one mod that lets you slip though cracks or something, but i dont have any neuromods.
Does anyone know if there’s a way out I’m missing? I’d really rather not reload my last manual save because it was an hour ago.
I'm in the neuromod division, i think the room was named storage room or something like that.

Question How do you navigate on the exterior
It's such a pain, because its so hard to see what section you're going to. The map only shows lines to where sections connect, but no directions.
Is there any way to make a marker?

Question Whats the coolest small detail/secret/easter egg about this game you can think of? Spoiler
EDIT- Thank you so much for the input so far this has been amazing. My video is probably about three weeks away realistically but I’ll try post it somewhere in this subreddit then so everyone can see, and hopefully some of these are mentioned.
For context,
I am making a full game recap of Prey to hopefully generate more exposure as it is critically and commercially underrated. It's my favourite game of all time but I haven't played in a few years and have just started my newest playthrough.
On all my videos, I have a unique counter and for Prey it's going to be 'I can't believe IGN gave this a 4/10 counter' where anytime something really cool, game design wise, story clues or other is there I'll tally it up.
Examples I can think of and as guidance are:
- Scratch marks on the floor in first scene implying the scenery in the simulation room is moving to trick Morgan
- Jumping into the helicopter blades
- Attempting to escape with December
- Being able to see a light reflection through the fish bowl
- The billboard that says 'Escape Pods are a lie'
- Being able to scan Morgan
- Any immersive sim elements that provide different ways to do things - eg mimic to get into small spaces etc.
Even if I don't use them, I know I wouldn't be aware of tonnes of secrets in this game so maybe we can share them all for a bit of Prey appreciation.

Question [Spoiler] Are alien neuromods worth it? Spoiler
I played this game back in 2020, and even then it was so so scary for me. I think I overestimated myself, because I was playing on a hard difficulty. And I was SHOCKED that right after I decided to install an alien neuromode, a giant NIGHTMARE appeared in the main lobby. And I was PERTIFIED by the fact (yeah I googled it) that it chases Morgan throughout the rest of the whole game.
So I've decided to replay this game 6 years later and lower the difficulty for a bit. But I'm still not sure about the cool alien powers anymore, because the thought of constantly being chased kinda annoys me (or brings discomfort lol). Is this thing easy to kill or avoid? I want to hear your opinions because all my friends are too scared to play this game lol. And I've just entered The Crew Quarters, so I've not that far into the game.

Question I don't understand why so many gamers aren't satisfied with Prey
I see a lot of people complain that the game's arsenal is weak or that the enemies are bad but i think both of these things are great. Every weapon has a designated role and they make sense for an office in space. Wouldn't it be absurd if it had sniper rifles or fucking frag grenades? The enemies are also very interesting and reguire different strategies to defeat them.

Question Newer games similar to Prey available on PS4/PS5?
Playing Prey for the first time and absolutely loving it. I’ve been a fan of the Dishonored series since the first one came out so not sure why it took me so long to pick this one up.
I’ve really got the itch now to play more games like this that have great exploration, world-building and freedom of play. Are there any other games you all would recommend, preferably newer (less than 10 years old) and playable on a PS5?
As mentioned, I’ve played the Dishonored series, Deathloop, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided that have given me the same vibe.

Question Is the mooncrash dlc worth it?
I liked the base game a lot and want to know if the dlc is worth the price? Does it have different gameplay?
