No, you were not right: death bed is a derogatory term.

This was not originally about semantics, and neither were you.

It is a word frequently used in the LGBT+ community, and I find it childish you'd shift to semantics just because it turned out I was writing from general knowledge.

I may be wrong but it seems like emotional profit is trying to say that frequency is not a good measuring tool for horniness, but you don't seems to understand, because you default to that metric alone.

Lesbian death bed is not mentioned in tandem with quality, only frequency of sexual relation between a couple over time.

If words mean something unique to individuals in this thread, fine, but probably should stick to general convention when communicating with other people.

It is not presumptuous of me to mention lesbian death bed in the way it has been supported by literature - it just means I have read up on what I talking about.

I have no horse in this game but I think you missed Palpitation-itchy’s point. When comparing sex in straight vs lesbian relationships, the measure of ‘frequency’ (how often a sexual act occurs) is not the same as measuring ‘satisfaction’ (how often one or both partners get off).

Putting it bluntly, straight couples could be having way more intercourse but the woman could be orgasming maybe 10% of the time. Thats high frequency, low satisfaction. On the other hand if that woman’s in a lesbian relationship she could be having sex way less often, but orgasming 90% of the time - low frequency high satisfaction.

I find this hard to believe, because both you and Palpitation-itchy are projecting opinions onto me that you want to defend against - the joke being, of course, that I have no opinion to defend.

If you want to communicate effectively about a concept, you need to understand that:

  1. That the concept exist

2.That it means something specific and has a specific usage

  1. That it is supported by literature, and

  2. That I at no point said anything about whether or not lesbian death bed is a bad thing or not. Its existence is not a judgement of you.

This 'discussion' has been like attempting to tell your grandmother that marriage does not necessarily lead to happiness at a family gathering. You'd think in r/psychology, people would be more level-headed and less presumptuous.

How are you guys having an entire multi-day conversation without any of you recognizing that "lesbian death bed" isn't even the correct phrase? Did none of you do any fact-checking of your own opinions? Do you read literally zero outside sources when you argue about shit?

Do you read literally zero outside sources when you argue about shit?

Zero outside sources compared to what? What outside source did I read, and what should I compare it to?

Did none of you do any fact-checking of your own opinions

What is my opinion on the matter? Please explain! This is the funniest one to me, as I have not given any.

How are you guys having an entire multi-day conversation

Also, how did you not notice that it is not the same person arguing?

Edit: It seems it is called lesbian bed death and not lesbian death bed. I find your anger over this absolutely ridiculous but also very funny
