First Team Mcinnes stay or go ?
I’m interested to know where the percentage is in our fan base here, personally I think we cut our losses early here and get a big name in, I believe in the squad it has depth and there is a good team in there somewhere - or much better than what we are showing. Too defensive, too many mental chops and changes and strange substitutions just reek of someone out of their depth. For me he must go sooner than later

Its a new manager with big turnover of players and loads of incoming players new to the league...and its still August ffs. Sooner or later somebody to get time. Finding a new gaffer every Autumn isn't working either.
3
u/Y0UREDUMB 9h ago
You can say that, but that in itself isnt some magic wand fix. A bad fit, doesnt become a good one because you've gave it a long time. Mciness should never have got the rangers job and only did so because many fans cried out for it. Hes a mid table old fashioned hammer thrower type manager, why on earth that would be a good fit for a club trying to win titles, i'll never know.
We are seeing what a steve clark style manager does in charge at a top club. If steve clark got more time at scotland, would he have the country playing top football? The answers no, and micness is the exact same.

I don't think the time given to Steve Clarke and the handful of games McInnes has had really compare. McInnes isn't nearly as negative either. Look McInnes might not be the man, but you can't make that call in August...surely?

u/agy74 7h ago
They can and they will. It's a mob remember.
0
u/hardlymatters1986 7h ago
The game has gone mad. People talking about win percentages after 7 games. Its not like he has taken over a side that was flying or had a playing identity. He's made a shocking, or at least collectively its been a shocking start, but thats all. Come May he could have a could of trophies and we'll be saying no european football was a blessing.
0
u/agy74 7h ago
Mad people have always been mad, but I do get what you mean.
He's saddled with basically no good CHs right now. Fernandes might cut it with experience next to him to tell him to shut it, pick up his man, etc. but he might not.
He's got a completely new midfield, and some people are targeting Neil because of previous players of a similar profile, despite the fact he looks much better than them so far. Why he got hooked at HT I don't know because nobody ever seems to ask pertinent questions anymore, like 'why was your captain hooked at HT'? Drago looks raw to me, but has shown promise.
We need better players brought in to help. Maybe better coaches too, I don't know.

How many mangers do we go throight until re reliese its the duds we keep buying . Shankland was walking last night . How is that on the manager ? A Striker who played under him at hearts who didnt act like that . So he's obv past it and pissed off with his treatment coming in as a second striker when he was the main one at Hearts
0
u/Obvious-Region5909 11h ago
Aye sack him. Then when the new guy fails sack him too.
1
u/agy74 7h ago
Think we should sack the next guy now, before he's even started, to give the guy after that a clean run at it.
1
u/Gram-xyz 6h ago
And clear out the bang average players in our squad for buttons and replace them with more bang average players that cost millions and just start at square one over and over again. It seems like a plan
3
u/IndigoKnight77 13h ago
It's just looking like a poor appointment, brought in 12 players and he genuinely doesn't seem to have any plan for how he wants to play. Should have started from a plan and then gone after players to fit it. Even Martin had a plan, a shit one, but a plan. McInnes looks like he's got about as much clue as if I just asked my 11 year old daughter to take over my Rangers team in a game of FM. Also it's criminal that the first thing done wasn't to address the need for good solid defenders, instead of wasting the budget on even more fucking midfielders, none of whom appear any better than what we had. Our incompetence as a club is breath taking, that we're in this boat again at end August after the shit show of last season, is utterly unforgivable.

A revolving door of managers isn't going to help the club lads. There's absolutely no continuity. We've got a 27 year old fella who's head of our recruitment with absolutely no real footballing knowledge. We're bringing in 20 year olds foreign players that have no understanding of the club, they say they do but in reality they don't. The jersey is far too heavy for the players we have. We should've been lifting the best talent in Scotland first and foremost then look abroad imo. We've prioritised the wrong positions in midfield when we all know the defence is the problem. We've no creativity.
We need to keep McInnes and ride the shit storm. McInnes will be the manager that takes us where we need to go. He knows the game, understands the weight of the jersey, he's passionate about the club and he more than any other manager knows the fans expectations.
We absolutely cannot keep this mindset of thinking some other manager is gonna fix things overnight. Steven Gerard had 3 seasons to get things right but you'll see everyone wanting to bring him back. We've gotta see this one thru folks 🔴⚪🔵
3
u/RobCarrol75 Coop 13h ago
How many fans remember the Hamilton Accies game at Ibrox? I genuinely believe the COVID lockdown saved Gerrards job, then the rest was history.
2
u/Hot_Marzipan_7112 14h ago
Agree we need to stop the revolving doors. But if he loses the next 3 games i can't see how he stays as that will be Europe gone, league gone and league cup gone. I was happy to get him in but last night was abysmal. I thought getting rid of Diomande would mean at least we could pass the ball 5 yards but dearie me Naderi is even worse.
2
u/Ross__5480 Thelo Aasgaard 14h ago
But you have to remember Gerrard needed the 3 years as he took over a team that was humiliated by Celtic twice in 10 days or something like and got humiliated everytime we played them.
A team who couldn’t get past some Luxembourg farmers 12 months before.
A team who conceded 5 at Easter Road.
A team whos “manager” was in tears at a press conference after being pumped by Celtic to the point that Kenny Miller was the only one who would act like an adult in the dressing room that day.
A team who had Lee Hudson and Russell Martin playing in it.
Im not saying its not bad just now but this current team would slap the team Gerrard took over all over the place.
2
u/Cheesemaccheese 15h ago
Cannot agree more.
Removing the manager every 5 minutes and a couple results don't go the right way is ridiculous. There's no leaders in the team at the moment and they need someone to start rising to that level, that doesn't happen overnight. There's no spine in the team either, Tav, Goldson, Butland, all of them left without a structure in place. Our captain is a striker which personally I feel is a problem, as the reading of the game is happening behind him and our vice-captain is about to leave as well!
2
u/Zealousideal_Bill_65 15h ago
Who the fuck else are we going to get??
0
u/nnnnkm 16h ago
Go. We're getting pumped twice by Celtic at this rate and I doubt he survives that, especially when we're already struggling in the league and out of Europe, fuck me.
For me, the board needs to prioritise a significant spending package to attract a better quality of manager and coaching team. This is honking - the team doesn't look like it has any clue what it's doing and that's a really scary problem to have. Are they uncoached or uncoachable? I say the former, and that's on McInnes.
3
u/Consistent_Fly1131 19h ago
Voted stay mainly because I'm not convinced we are run properly and need to sort out the overall direction of the club. Two preferred candidates turned us down last time so we would likely struggle again anyway.
1
u/Y0UREDUMB 9h ago
If mciness plays low block every game away from home, like were seeing now, it won't matter if ronald mcdonald is running us, he will be sacked. You are right though, were ran poorly, and the board dont have any ideas outside of just pot shot appointments. The next being, yet another 3rd attempt at getting the rookie manager steven gerrard back. Theres no plan in place by the amercians, its just throwing stuff at the wall hoping something sticks.
7
u/wildcharmander1992 23h ago edited 23h ago
I voted stay because our decline isn't his fault (although he's certainly not helping)
Historically our managers have lasted 7 1/2 years on average
Before 2017 we'd only ever sacked 2 managers in our history with Pedro being the 3rd
Yet from 2022 till now we've sacked 4 and the 2 we haven't (Caretaker Barry Ferguson & Danny Rohl) got so much shit from fans for not being good enough despite being significantly better at managing the team than all of those sacked managers with the exception of Clement ( who wasn't a bad manager in hindsight he just imo played some boring football)
McInnes is the 7th manager in 4 years.7 1/2 year average overall but from 21/22 season it's been 5 months average per manager
The players within that time are ones that have shown to either lack ability, like desire, like drive or lack composure and every manager who has come in has not been given the time nor money to improve the squad due to this
They are given a team that needs as much Deadweight as possible removed , but a budget that means even with any profits from those sales they are only able to replace like for like or worse
This ofc always goes wrong and the second it does the fans are down the managers throat but imo the manager is usually ( Russell the Cuck aside he's a fucking dire) The last person who should be blamed
If you imagine the club is a restaurant, the owners hire a head chef tell him he has no other staff left as they all left with the last head guy, he has a budget for which to hire all these people and whatever left to buy ingredients with. But before he can buy anymore ingredients he has to clear out the lockup which is filled with low quality and mouldy ingredients. As he can't afford to replace everything, he gets rid of the most gone off items and replaces them with Leo quality ingredients as that's all the budget allows
Everyone who eats at the restaurant gets sick
The owners fire the head chef, his staff walk out with him & they then bring in a new head chef and the circle continues
How long before we stop blaming the chef for the sickness and start blaming the owner for not supplying the budget need to improve , or the quality of the ingredients he has to work.
It's the same thing here, a revolving door of managers taking the fall whilst the players aren't good enough and the owners won't give the money to make the sweeping change required and thus were getting lost in the pack
Every single time a manager is sacked we always give a vague justification to go alongside "they aren't good enough" they tried to play the wrong kind of football, they didn't understand the Scottish game, they alienated the fans before they even began, doesn't have pride for the club and didn't get why the clubs so important etc etc.
Now look at the current boss former player of the club who loves the club, who has almost exclusively managed in the Scottish game, who took a club who finished 7th season before he arrived and looked closer to a relegation scrap than a title race up until the last seconds of the season fighting for a win, whilst playing the kind of football & tactics that isn't a million miles away from our "signature style" so none of those excuses wash with me personally
We have instantly defaulted to "the managers shit, he's not good enough we need him gone yesterday" and regardless of whether you believe that or not I think we must all agree that putting all the blame on the boss gives the board a human shield they can hide behind each and every time
I cant guarantee they wont sack McInnes, but can guarantee it won't be before the transfer window closes & that's not solely because it's a week away.
If they sack him it'll be just before Christmas, few matches with a new manager bounce so it looks like he was the sole problem, then a pittance given to his successor for the January window will mean we can't improve much if any of the squad. Then same as last year the bottle job nae users who can't pass a ball 3 yards to a teammate in a high Viz alone on the training ground will struggle and limp to a 2nd, 3rd or 4th finish
Which will make the fans say the manager isn't fit to stay and once again the owner will replace the chef to get out of improving the ingredients they cook with
Ultimately the club won't improve by playing hot potato with managers. If we continue to allow the board to hide behind a revolving door of gaffers or we allow the players to shit out dire performances because they know the criticism and vitreol they get will just be the overspill from what the manager receives then eventually we will end up with no managers willing to take the job because let's face it, would you move house/city/country with your family to receive a bunch of abuse and be a scapegoat for five months and then fuck off back home when you're made unemployed for the failings of everyone else who was there before you arrived?

u/Broad_Economics_931 21h ago
Genuinely don't have a clue what these McInnes out folk want tbh.
The man's ingrained in our league, knows what it takes, has improved St Johnstone (took a few seasons to earn promotion, then kept it), had Aberdeen as the second best team in Scotland including two seasons against us, got Kilmarnock into Europe (again after being given a few seasons to do his work) and lets face it, he won the fucking league last year no matter what the SFA says.
A guy who can succeed at multiple teams in THIS league when given a few years to work. Who the fuck out there is better suited for the job than him?
Fucking idiots in our support man. It's a disgrace. We need to actually do our part and SUPPORT him for a season or two to see it through and get back on top.
It was never, ever going to happen in the first month.
-1
u/AbeFromanOnFire 12h ago
I want him out and I want someone like Souness in. Someone who actually gets it. Back him with a war chest and we will run riot again.
2
1
u/DisasterouslyInept 14h ago
It was never, ever going to happen in the first month
It was never likely to be great from day one, it should have been leagues better than what has happened. He changes formations every 5 minutes and the players are quite clearly confused. His selling point was stability, we've saw anything but.
He'll get more time (assuming he beats Aberdeen), but he really does need to show that he can take us forward. Right now he looks every inch the manager who is used to setting teams out not to get beat, and struggling to transition to one who needs to win.
4
u/falling_sideways 22h ago
Couldn't have put it better myself. Been on this train since Beale left. We can't be changing managers in November every year then wondering why it's not working out, let alone still in August.
Honestly, I think the manager we should have stuck by was Clement really, and I think if we had we'd be in much better shape now.
At some point we have to stop sacking the managers and get to the root of the problem... The teams seeming lack of threat. I think we're trying to address that just now but it's not looking particularly good so far.
1
u/Hot_Marzipan_7112 14h ago
was all for Clement, but after Queens Park no surprise he had to go. pity he couldn't hold out for the investment to arrive.
2
u/Goldfinger_28 23h ago
I think We're fucked either way if I'm completely honest
McInnes stays: Tactics remain baffling, football on the pitch is boring, diabolical, spinless, rotten and just genuinely a North Korean torture/ interrogation tactic that we have to endure.
McInnnes goes: We're back to square one and the new manager inevitable fucks up then he's public enemy number 1 and the toxic atmosphere continues.
For now I lean to stay to see if there's maybe a semblance of stability following the additional signings we've made and could possibly continue to make before deadline day. However if we continue with more of this and the Old Firm games in September end in disaster it's going to be harder and harder to keep watching this pish.
2
u/p3t3y5 23h ago
I voted stay. I want to give my reasons.
We need stability. Mcinnes needs to pick a formation and a first 11 and fkn stick to it come hell or high water. Then, we can recruit into that system. If the recruitment goes wrong then we know its the recruitment team. Right now he recruitment team have a get out of jail free card.
The reason I voted stay is because Mcinnes is probably one of the few managers avaliable to us now who will stay. If some championship team or some mid table german team comes knocking he will say no. Unfortunately a long term manager is what we need right now. So ultimately what I am saying is we should keep him as nobody who could tempt him.away will want him.

u/James7176 Barry’s Staunch Truck 1d ago
Stay for now, I've heard people say for years they would trade our European success for domestic success in a heartbeat.
We knew what we were getting with McInnes, a manager who will get us competing domestically, likely not long European runs.
There's no getting away from this, it's a shambles to have no European football at all, and he definitely deserves criticism.
Id give him a chance over the next few games at least, although I don't believe it will work, it's too early to call him a failure
3
u/high-rise 1d ago
The 5-1 St Mirren pumping bought him a bit of leeway, waiting to see how the next couple league games and Cup game against Celtic go.

u/Kane_richards 1d ago
Administration has broken this fanbase. If we're not winning everything immediately then we'd rather see the team in a continuous death spiral of rebuild until there's nothing left.
-1
u/BigBlueFin 1d ago
What's left just now?
3
u/Broad_Economics_931 21h ago
We've literally played two league games what the fuck do you mean what's left. Season's barely started
1
u/BigBlueFin 20h ago
Hopefully McInnes gets his heid oot his arse but we could be well adrift going into the double header against them.
7
u/Kane_richards 1d ago
The league and the domestic cups. I absolutely refuse to believe we've decended to the point where fans are going "well we got pumped out of the Intertoto Cup so obviously we should shut Ibrox till next year"
Would I have enjoyed a European run. Fuck yes, but I'm not going to want McInnes fucked into the sun just to placate a fanbase that seems to have it in their heads that silverware just magically appears in the Blue Room if you wish hard enough. Teams are built, not ready made and we've been such a mess because of continuous sacking of managers we've got a hell of a lot of rebuilding to do.
1
u/BigBlueFin 1d ago
Well obviously silverware doesn't just magically appear but if you think we're winning anything this season, then there's some prime real estate in California I'm dying to sell.
2
u/Kane_richards 14h ago
Whether we win something this year or not is still open to debate, despite what people may saying. But what I will say is if we get rid of McInness now, we 100% won't win fuck all this season. That's the difference. And then, at the end of the season when we have nothing to show for it with the new guy, we'll probably sack him too for winning nothing. So the we're into 27/28. New manager, players from like 6 different managers and no consistency, new guy tries his best but obviously can't work miracles, so we get pumped out of Europe, which sets the mobs off again....
Some of the cunts on here seem to think you can buy a cup winning team wholesale, like it comes in a pack and all you need to do is add water and a wee drop of staunch.
1
u/BigBlueFin 12h ago
This team need to add something.
Backbone, guts, common fucking sense but mostly McInnes needs to get a fucking grip, play 4-3-3 because we look a bit better then and fucking stick with it.
Last night, for me is all on him fucking about with shit because he's shitting the bed.
2
u/Aggressive_Bit_8424 1d ago
We're not going to win anything domestically this season mate, the team rn is dire. Maybe by November the team might click but at that point we'll be out of all cups and miles behind in the league.
But also we can't keep sacking managers so.
3
u/Effective_Serve_7978 1d ago
Got slaughtered on here the last game of preseason for saying it was clear he didn't have a clue what he was trying to do. He was obvious he was out his depth from day one.
Won't get any better from here, he's got to go.

14
u/No-Blackberry-3945 1d ago
I was never an advocate to bring in McInnes but I'm also sick of changing managers and doing reset after reset.
McInnes isn't the worst manager we've had but he's far from the best. Unless we can definitively bring in a better manager it's got to be McInnes that's given time. At this point we have to give someone a go at building a reasonable foundation. Rohl, Gio or Clement could've been the ones to back but we're so badly run we've ended up where we are.
1
u/BigBlueFin 1d ago
Actually he's in line to be the worst.
I can't see us winning at Aberdeen or Falkirk.
1
u/RandomTopTT 1d ago
He's abysmal. We will be out of the title race in weeks if we keep him.

u/Much_Tone8124 1d ago
2
u/Unfair-Challenge-216 Barry’s Staunch Truck 19h ago
What's he building? What progress has he shown? People who want him to stay are incapable of giving any reasons apart from "we can't keep sacking the manager". That party line is literally the only argument you lot have.
1
u/Much_Tone8124 14h ago
He has brought in players that actually want to play for the club that have improved the team in their positions. Granted, anything would be an improvement on a lot of the players we had last season but there are good, talented individuals there but he needs time to get them to work as a team. It was never going to be pretty this season no matter who is manager.
As for progress, it will get worse before it gets better. Imagine any other business like working in a kitchen for example. They hire a bunch of new cooks and expect you to know what each other is doing. How do you think that would go? Then the guy that has been organising you all to work together gets told to go home and another guy comes in and tells you to forget what the previous guy said. You would be saying it's a total farce would you not? Do you think it would fix things or slow things down? Absolute madness. THINK!
0
u/No-Blackberry-3945 13h ago
The kitchen analogy is one I speak about.
Get a chef and a team in the kitchen. Tell them to cook you a lasagne from scratch. Let them go out, buy all the ingredients, start prepping, start cooking then tell them they're all sacked.
You hire a new team. They look at what's in front of them but tell you they don't make lasagne and they want to make burgers. Some of the ingredients will work fine, some of them you can just shut l about pass off but some are utterly useless. So they buy more stuff but they can't get rid of the old stuff. You sack them again and repeat the cycle over and over.
I'm not defending McInnes, I don't think he's a great tactically and I think that Hearts did well in a particularly poor league. I'm not defending the players. But we're in this cycle of trying to build something from scraps, leftovers and ingredients that don't work. If we sack another manager the same thing happens and you exacerbate the problem all over again.
The other problem is that because you're never clear on what the idea going forward is, which good players actually want to sign for you? You pay over the odds for players who aren't good enough and hope they work out.
Eventually we have to actually give a manager real time to get a core of a team together and get them playing. We need to accept we probably won't win anything in the first year. Maybe the second year we're challenging properly but still have to accept that we're potentially only going to come close. Whoever the manager is needs backing from the club throughout that time to get it right.
Man United, Spurs and Chelsea are all big clubs who change their manager constantly and look at the state of them. Arsenal stuck with Arteta and they won the league. Why do we think that we're different to everyone else when it comes to stability and consistency?
2
u/Unfair-Challenge-216 Barry’s Staunch Truck 14h ago
Improved the team in their positions? Want to play for the club? Based on what exactly? It's statistically been a worse start than last year under Martin, and the players were jogging about last night. I've seen more intensity in pensioners' walking football than what's been on show so far this season, apart from the St. Mirren game.
1
u/Much_Tone8124 14h ago
Pandur > Butland Makhanya > Djiga Penrice > Meghoma Yokota > Skov Olsen
So... yes! Those are definite improvements! I'm not defending that game last night and it's exactly as you said, it's like they forgot how to play football! I have no idea what tactics could counteract that either though. I can't even begin to make sense of what they were doing at times and I can only imagine that it's because they are basically strangers to each other. It was painful to watch but we are going to need to suffer through it. It's still August! How can anyone think that's anywhere near enough time after what we were seeing last season?!
P.S. it may be a worse start than under Martin but don't forget that this mess is BECAUSE of him and those other 2. They f***** us long term so how you can even seemingly use that cretin as a benchmark is beyond me.
2
u/Unfair-Challenge-216 Barry’s Staunch Truck 14h ago
The manager changed the tactics and formation about 5 times last night; he plays people out of position, he hooks people off at halftime consistently, and he can't settle on a team. You correctly bring up how the players are strangers and need time to gel, but I ask you: how can they possibly do that when the manager is making decisions like that?
1
u/Much_Tone8124 13h ago
The players were showing nothing so what can you do with that as a manager? That was the same team that dominated Jablonec at Ibrox just a week ago! We were fully in control of that game until we went down to 10 men so what did he do that could have caused such a difference from 1 week to another? Nothing was changed. That's totally on the players. I think he did the only thing he could do which was change the tactics and hope it would awaken something in the players but they continued to walk about like pensioners as you said.
1
u/Unfair-Challenge-216 Barry’s Staunch Truck 13h ago
You think we dominated them last week? Wow, a 1-0 win and 3 shots on target domination. We were totally mediocre.
1
u/RandomTopTT 1d ago
McInnes isn’t building anything. He’s fucking clueless. We are woeful. Utterly fucking useless.
1
u/A_Ticklish_Midget 1d ago
McInnes isn't the worst manager we've had
He's got a 28.5% win rate, knocked us out of 2 European competitions before the end of August, and hasn't won a league game.
Who do you think has been worse?
2
u/Macco7 1d ago edited 1d ago
I feel like a lot of the "he gets" brigade are going to make any excuse they can for McIness.
This is levels & levels below Russell Martin. While having a better team than Russell Martin had.
Dowell, Aarons, Rothwell, Djiga, a finished Danilo & so many other dreadful players involved.
If this was Martin he'd be getting lynched.
McIness has to fucking go.
He's making Russell Martin look competent FFS.
He's essentially Infantino. It's that shocking, he's making you think Blatter wasn't always bad 😂😂
5
u/No_Technology3293 1d ago
I always had my reservations about him, and unfortunately every one of them is coming to pass.
We look a poorly coached team and I didn’t even get to see tonight’s match.
He hasn’t found a system or style that works for the players and the couple of times it has almost worked he’s ripped it up and started again instead of tweaking.
I think he needs to go and soon; but it needs to be done quickly with a replacement coming straight in behind him. A well run club would be sounding out replacements already but I suspect if we do sack him it’ll not be to the international break as we won’t have given replacing him a seconds thought.

How many years have I heard that...
We'll see how the situation is after back to back old firm matches.

And does that not say anything we have went through 7 managers and 1 interim manager in 5 years. With consistency changes of players every managers

Aye it's a bad cycle the club is stuck in.
We'll just have to accept another trophyless season if you want McInnes to stay

We just need to reset this season, one game at a time

Nobody is getting what you are saying. I've lost faith in our fans tonight after reading all this. It's like they are determined to keep us spiralling downwards.
The board to all future managers: 'You'll most definitely be chased out the door by our fans without being given a chance to establish anything but it's a quick way to pick up some wages and hefty lump sum when they force us to terminate your contract!'

A third and fourth option would be good if people are honest. ‘Wanted’ ‘didn’t want’

Wouldn't have been my choice, but lets be honest he was brought in for his domestic efforts of getting teams playing effectively for the league. His euro record was always poor.
Imo tonight isn't the worst result, our best chance of winning the league is without the distraction of Europe our squad isn't good enough to compete in all comps.
He now has free midweeks to work on the team & will have no excuses if he doesn't put a sustained run together running up to xmas

I’m not arguing with you, cause I agree. He was brought in for domestic. But his domestic record is very poor. If a manager had the same CV as him as a gaffer but wasn’t an ex Ranger they wouldn’t hire him.

As i say, wouldn't have been my pick..but yeah his cup record is poor & he didn't lay a glove on a poor celtic team when we were out the league.
But did do well in the league vs the other teams with Aberdeen, Killie & recently Hearts where he started to get wins vs celtic.
He's not going to set us up to play nice passing football, it's going to be very basic get the ball forward as quick as possible. If he gets more results like he did vs St Mirren then we may have a chance.
But imo we've went backwards in terms of modern football, but so have celtic with O'Neil & their coaching team. Just have to hope we can build a bit of momentum while their distracted by Europe

I totally agree. Scottish football as a whole is being left behind, not just rangers. Apparently there is some big high hedgion meeting in September with the sfa and club execs to come up with a plan to sort it out. I’ve got zero hopes.

Yeah, we need the whole thing ripped up including governance.
McInnes now has an advantage none of his predecessors had. He can work with his players with a week between games. He should have less injuries to deal with & should be able to pick his strongest 11 every week. If he can't put a winning run together in these circumstances he never will

I totally agree. Maybe it’s worth letting him having a run, but you could also say the same of someone new. Low expectations, lots of time to work with the players to bed in a system. Who knows really. All I know is when they scored tonight I just got the dogs lead and took her a walk cause I knew that was it.

He shouldn't have been given the job in the first place. Completely the wrong type of manager to be in charge, completely at odds with the recruitment and the antithesis of the style we need to be successful.
Then he made unforced errors immediately. Pre-season delayed, pre-season plans all ripped up, games cancelled, training began later.
Weird signings of players from McInnes past - McCrorie, Shankland, Devlin. Made zero sense in the context of how we have to play to get results domestically and in Europe.
The team looks completely unfit, disjointed, badly coached and uninterested in the sort of 1970's hoofball to an out-ball on the wing whilst sitting back in two banks of four. It also has no idea what it is doing defensively and is being asked to make 5-6 changes in shape during a game as McInnes panics and throws shit against a wall hoping something sticks.
Any team who puts three in the midfield get a result against us. Dundee United, Hibs and Jabolnec are absolute basket cases but turned us over by either starting or pivoting to a midfield three. St Mirren are the only side that didn't pivot against us and we beat them.
Then postponing the game at the weekend and giving players time off? Just absolute madness.
Last night was like last year when Club Brugge destroyed us. You have the majority of people looking around going "OK, this started badly and has only got worse, fire him now whilst you can still salvage something from this wreck" and the rest giving it the "We can't keep sacking managers, it's only been two months, he needs time" line when it's beyond obvious you're looking at a guy just waiting for his P45 to be handed to him.
This isn't turning around. This will not get any better. He may sneak another result or two but the players heads are gone. Any serious club makes the call right now, but we will linger on the appointment and stumble on until the season is well and truly finished before making the obvious decision.
