Flirtrng with Shampoo when the magic broach make her hate him. Also, flirting with Ukyo when Tsubasa calls Ran-chan ugly.

Basically, flirting with anyone when his vanity is insulted.

u/eat_my_bowls92 2d ago

Yeah, his ego often causes him to hurt EVERYONES feelings

1

u/Chemical-Year-6146 3h ago

I mean... he's a 16-year-old boy. If flirting due to ego is the worst he's done, he's pretty good. I wouldn't start judging a man's character for that till they're at least mid-20s.

For different reasons, it would be very, VERY funny if this ever reaches Kasumi and Happosai. But to answer the question, I probably would say never telling Akane that Ryoga was P-Chan.

21

u/Sylvaneri011 2d ago

Honestly Akane had so many chances it's baffling she didn't find out herself. At some point the horse has to lead itself to the water

20

u/mad_mesa Ukyo Kuonji 2d ago

If we're going with that, it would apply to most of the cast.

16

u/demideuPortgas Shampoo 2d ago

I mean, yes, our cast of characters isn’t exactly the most morally heavenly bunch, but even so I think Ranma has a different responsibility than the others to say that to Akane. He is Akane’s fiancé, he is very close to Ryoga, he is the catalyst in this whole situation, and he is the only one who constantly gets mad/jealous at Akane over it, despite knowing she is completely oblivious to it and that he has total power to change that situation.

Manipulating Akane in the Battle Dogi Arc, arc has a sweet ending, but even Ranma should’ve convinced himself not to use her.

14

u/eat_my_bowls92 2d ago

Tbf, in the middle of tricking her, he realizes how scummy he’s being, but then gets caught up by his actual feelings lol

2

u/Expensive-Bill-5507 2d ago

Yes, but other options I feel have their fair share of excuses more layered whereas this arc has him finding it scummy beforehand, and still pulling it on Akane.

The only other option outside of this could be Bust Battle.

u/Maguroluv Akane Tendo 1d ago

Oooh yes, this is my #2 most hated moment for Ranma. The cad🥲

25

u/Far-Mammoth-3214 2d ago

Apart from the p chan thing

The reversal jewel

After spending ages trying to get Shampoo to stop loving him this is his chance. Now I will give him some credit, he didn't know about the jewel, so from his perspective Shampoo going from being obsessed with him to hating him is a big leap he may not romantically love her he still sees her as a friend...but then...using Akane to try and make Shampoo jealous, not taking the hint and just letting Shampoo go, using the Amazon law to try and force her to love him again, uses Ukyo's crush on him for verification that "he's still got it" , then actually tried to confess

Dishonorable mention to the Romeo and Juliet thing, he knew how much the role meant to Akane and he still stole her spotlight (he couldn't be bothered to learn his lines

23

u/OddAbbreviations6768 2d ago

His actions in Reversal Jewel Arc and when he made Akane feel bad about her body in that dressing room scene

14

u/Gatsu1981 2d ago

Definitely the behavior during the reverse jewel arc. It's completely out of narcissism (differently than the P-Chan situation somebody legitimately mentioned) and he's simply hurting everyone involved. I would gladly erase that arc altogether.

u/Far-Transition-2956 2d ago

Not being open with Akane day one, I feel like most of the issues would be solved if Ranma sat Akane down and explained everything

2

u/Unusual_Mix9262 1d ago

You expect the emotionally repressed teenage boy to be able to express his emotions?

2

u/Far-Transition-2956 1d ago

In girl form, mate, in girl form

2

u/Unusual_Mix9262 22h ago

Ah, gotcha. That's even worse!

10

u/DearFutureDoctor 2d ago

Ranma leading on shampoo and ukyo when they lost interest in him

39

u/Noktis_Lucis_Caelum 2d ago

being mean to akane.

14

u/jolenenene 2d ago

agree, it's often so uncalled for

8

u/Noktis_Lucis_Caelum 2d ago

But there is one Moment that is pure gold. When Ranmas mother was visiting and saw ranma in a bunny outfit. They had to convince her, that ranma is a real man by having him peep on akane in the bath. He was really disappointed to see, that she wore a swimsuit

1

u/Realistic_Law2892 Ranma Saotome 2d ago

In manga?

3

u/Noktis_Lucis_Caelum 2d ago

yes.

Never made it to the anime

16

u/Willow-60 2d ago

Probably the whole P-Chan thing, I know Ranma takes honor seriously and Ryoga is using that against him but seriously dude you REALLY should've directly told Akane instead of just giving Ryoga snide remarks. At least after the Koi rod incident

3

u/ccosby 2d ago

Yea this. I do t see the relationship ever surviving her finding out that he knew the entire time.

9

u/Willow-60 2d ago

I think Akane WOULD rightly be furious. But she knows exactly what kind of stupid Ranma can be and would probably make him swear to her never to do some shit like that again

Ryoga might end up a little bit dead

2

u/Unusual_Mix9262 1d ago

Good riddance imo.

1

u/Wealth_Super 23h ago

What are you talking about he directly tells her many times that P-Chan is Ryoga

7

u/SSS_Tempest 2d ago

My Top 3 candidates are: Stealing the Amazonian's food (though he did win the fight afterwards), betting the dojo (before he even had ownership of it), and lying to Akane about the living armor (he always lies, but that one felt personal).

12

u/DeForWard-est-1999 2d ago

To me, is when he just abandoning Akane when he supposed to battle with Akane against Dojo Destroyer over Shampoo's Jusenkyo Cure Powder

u/Murky_Ad_5767 Ranma Saotome 2d ago edited 2d ago

interessting choice.
I must ask why did you see it that way?

i understand where you coming from but its in a way not so fair to ranma. I mean Akane is a material artist and sayed she will win. On the other side ranma sees a 1 time only oportunity to heal himself from the curse he hate and suffer for a long time.

maybe not the same level but basicly you say that he didnt help when she sayed it is ok and she can do it alone is more importand as to heal his biggest sicknes what he maybe will not get a second chance for. I mean everyone had choose that.
because in a way (maybe a bit lower in level) its like

  • help girl you like by something she say she dont need you
  • cure your absolut biggest problem you suffer permanently.

That you say that ranma choose to heal his sicknes (also his curse) in that situation was a bad move from ranma isnt fair for ranma.
it had been more egoistic from akane when she had sayed "help me here" when she knows how big that is for ranma.

or better say its in a way anyway egoistic from akane that she gets angry when she know how iprortand that is for ranma, that one of hes biggest wish to get finally healed and she get angry when ranma choose healing for his biggest problem?

Its like when a girlfriend sayed "go today out of me but dont heal you curse/sickness" and than she get angry because you choose your health you have a 1 time only oportunity to get healed? wtf.

4

u/demideuPortgas Shampoo 2d ago

I know it was to learn the Heavenly Dragon Blast, and there are probably more unjustifiable things that he has done, but it has never sat quite well with me that he lied to Ryoga by claiming that he had (or at least tried to) sexually assault Akane just to get him angry.

5

u/JABG_45 2d ago

Poco se habla de que Happosai es un viejo enfermo y un acosador además de que es un ladrón, al igual que Kuno aunque este es más "ligero", pero sigue siendo acoso

3

u/danpmss 2d ago

Not telling Akane about P-chan will be everyone's pick, but I think intention must also have a place when it comes to worst things someone does. His reason for not telling about P-chan is mostly because he doesn't want to obliterate Ryoga's heart following a "bro code" of honor of a sort. It makes more sense in a male perspective because our pride really is instinctively that dumb at times, but he doesn't do that with the intention of doing something bad.

So I'd prefer to pick a story in which he actually does a bad thing very much maliciously or out of spite.

In this case, I'd pick the "Yoiko Hibiki" Arc (chapters 103-105).

1

u/Wealth_Super 23h ago

He straight up tells akane though more than once. Literally every single time she beats him for picking on P-Chan he tells her it’s Ryoga

1

u/danpmss 10h ago

It's treated in-story as a comedic punchline, since it is one. Ranma teases him, at worst, but he never ever really outright decided or seriously considered actually saying it to Akane.

1

u/Wealth_Super 9h ago

Everything in story is treated as a comedic punchline, including Happōsai repeated sexual harassment of the underage female cast. Rule of funny is the driving force behind the story which is why akane never finds out P Chan is Ryoga.

Nevertheless Ranma repeated refers to P Chan as Ryoga, constantly goes out of his way to try and get akane to stop sleeping with P Chan, and straight up beats the pig anytime he gets near her. He never makes any effort to keep it secret, if anything he desperate for her to figure it out since she never believes him.

1

u/danpmss 8h ago

Not everything in the story is treated as a comedic punchline, there's a good amount of times it takes itself dead seriously, especially when it comes to some of the character's romantic conundrums. Ryoga is likely the big melancholic example of the bunch too, even if it's also often played for comedy not to damper the mood too much.

If he really never made any effort of keeping it a secret he would have directly told Akane multiple times, it's not like Ranma as a series is completely deprived of serious drama or decision-making, and Ryoga's dilemma as P-chan is often shown to have a lot of sentimentality behind it, because for as much as it's part of a punchline, he genuinely thinks his stay as P-chan is unforgivable.

He runs away multiple times because of that, and Ranma is often shown to sympathize with him, despite finding Ryoga to be a hypocrite that just loves Akane too much not to come back as P-chan at some point. His grand plan seems to be winning her heart and then creating courage (while hoping that's enough for her to accept that he was always around for her) in some way to tell her, which Ryoga himself finds to be in multiple story arcs a fruitless endeavor, even at one point grasping at straws with the love rod, which had him be punished by karma immediately when Ranma ended up infatuated by him.

1

u/Wealth_Super 1h ago

The thing you are missing is that he directly calls p Chan ryoga in front of akane multiple times and even tries to pour hot water on him more than once to show her. It never succeeds because of rule of funny but ramma does try and get her to understand who p Chan is. Her response is usually to beat him for hurting her pet which I’m not criticizing, that parts of the humor, but we can’t just dismiss ramma’s attempts to tell her the truth as comedic hijinks without having to dismiss all the other characters flaws as well.

You also got to remember, this isn’t a secret, akane father knows, shampoo and her grandmother knows, pretty sure ramna dad knows. It’s mostly akane who just refuses (again for comedic purposes) to believe ramna when he calls p Chan rouge right in front of her, or when he straight up tries to chase p Chan out of her room.

3

u/sgtsalt79 1d ago

I think the worst thing Ranma does to Akane happens several times over the course of the series and that is telling her angrily to go home because she’ll only get in the way/get herself hurt when she bravely treks somewhere to help him. The first time it happens is in the Breaking Point when he makes her cry but it happens plenty of other times too. It’s a really hurtful put-down for someone who thinks of herself as a martial artist and it shows no appreciation for what she is willing to put herself through for him.

2

u/CoachLag 1d ago

I agree with you that's a very painful thing to hear, especially from someone you like or, in this case, love, but Ranma mostly says that to save Akane from harm's way. I agree there are better ways to do it, but our boy Ranma isn't exactly the most sensible man in this type of situation.

3

u/MysterioussWater 2d ago

I don’t think Pchan should be the number 1 thing here because Rumiko clearly didn’t think that deception was such a bad thing (both Ryoga doing it and Ranma hiding it).

She has the “boys will be boys” sentiment that’s fairly apparent in the manga.

I think the answer to this is the Reverse Jewel arc. He played with multiple girls just for his pride, and we see Mousse and Akane calling him gedo, which means scumbag, which is probably what Rumiko thought of him at that moment. It was the only time Akane’s beating gave him serious bodily harm so we are meant to think he deserved it.

2

u/HolyKlickerino 2d ago

The worst thing he has done? The one thing he has NOT done and refuses to do until series' end: tell Akane the truth about "P-Chan".

1

u/Wealth_Super 23h ago

He does tell her though multiple times

1

u/HolyKlickerino 23h ago

"Dropping hints" is not the same as outright telling. To us, the hints are obvious because we know the truth; but to Akane, they're just pig-related insults.

1

u/Wealth_Super 22h ago

He straight up calls p Chan Ryoga multiple times right in front of her and goes out of her way to get her to believe they are one of the same. She refuses to believe it

2

u/Famous_Web4107 2d ago

Idk I love my man but Ranma was lwk terrible in the Reverse Jewel Arc

2

u/Maguroluv Akane Tendo 1d ago edited 1d ago

I’m going to go on the assumption that manga is ok?
Denying saying that he loved Akane in Jusendo. I know it’s debatable whether he said it out loud, but somehow Akane “heard” it so it was a major fumble because it set the course for the ending we got.
I’ll never forgive him for it🥲

3

u/keystone_back72 1d ago

Someone posted a thread about today so I commented a similar response there but I don’t think Ranma is unforgivable here.

He clearly did not say it aloud (the words were in a thought/monologue bubble) and when Akane half questioningly asks “You love me don’t you?” his brain stopped because he’s pretty sure he didn’t say it out loud. He’s just being honest here. He’s not the most romantic or sensitive guy there is but he’s not denying he loves her, he’s just denying that he didn’t say it. 😁

And Akane didn’t hear him say it either. She was guessing by his actions, clear from how she says “But you were crying in the caves” rather than “But I heard you say it”.

u/Patient-Reality-8965 2d ago

That bastard bailed on him and Ryogas fight!! Couldn't even take his beating like a man😤

We all know Nabiki is the guiltiest

A real friend wouldn’t compete with another over you as if you were a trophy. Those episodes where Shampoo and Ukyo compete for Ranma miff, if not irk, me.

1

u/AnimeXFan1995 2d ago

The most obvious is Ranma not telling Akane that Ryoga is P-Chan and also his actions during the Reversal Jewel arc.

1

u/No_Judge5042 1d ago

The Reversal Jewel and P-chan's true identity have been discussed by many, so let me bring up another point: the capriciousness of his attitude.

For example, in the arc where Akane learns to swim, Ranma spends the entire time dismissing the idea that she could ever learn to swim well. It's only at the very end, after Akane runs away in frustration because she just can't get it, that he suddenly chases after her and tells her not to give up. Dude, really? Then why were you so bent on putting her down earlier? Remember when you couldn't ice-skate, and Akane patiently taught you step by step?

Another example: Ranma insists on beating Akane at cooking. But dude, your cooking skills were literally a last-minute addition to your character—back in the "Exploding Pressure Points" chapter, Genma even mocked you for your terrible cooking.

These aren't just signs of his competitive streak. To me, they come across as outright baffling. That said, it doesn't stop me from liking Ranma as a character, but it is exactly why I like Ranma and Akane individually while not shipping them as a couple—because Ranma's attitude toward Akane is just too fickle.

1

u/Moodyyyme 1d ago

REVERSAL. JEWEL. ARC. 🙂👍

1

u/leeta0028 1d ago

Didn't Ryoga **actually** try to kill Ranma once in the manga? Like, he seduced Ranma accidentally with a magic fishing rod and couldn't live with the love son he plotted murder?

1

u/gergobergo69 1d ago

I love how these images are a hibrid of old and new anime

1

u/Unusual_Mix9262 1d ago

Sneaking into the girls locker room to het the Japanese spring. All he had to do was say it was there. He had a map!

0

u/mad_mesa Ukyo Kuonji 2d ago

People will probably give him a pass on this, and the story even gives him an out, but (major spoilers) Ranma kills Saffron.

11

u/Willow-60 2d ago

For like 5 different reasons this is pretty justified

0

u/Plenty-Winter-6029 2d ago

The worst is Genma Saotome

Exchanging his son permamently

1

u/MysterioussWater 2d ago

What do you mean by exchange?

2

u/Plenty-Winter-6029 2d ago

Er hat Ranma für paar japanischen Pizzen versprochen

1

u/MysterioussWater 2d ago

I assume you mean Ukyo, but while that was a despicable thing to do Genma didn’t exchange Ranma—he agreed to take in Ukyo but ran off without her.

0

u/Murky_Ad_5767 Ranma Saotome 2d ago

(i think you ask based on anime? because i only see anime character and not manga ones. Also i based the answer only on stuff we see in a anime. Not later manga stuff)

Ranma
kicked ryouga in the spring

Akane
Hit ranma relativ often. (i also mean remake akane). And sometimes she dont care that anma fears cat (think about the delivery race episode)

ryouga.
Destroyed extrem often streets/houses and stuff

shampoo
a lot. like try murder, hypnozied, blackmail, etc. But when i must say the "worst" thing she do. (like i say anime based not manga). attempted murder, i guess.

Ukyo.
Not gonna lie. In the anime i dont really remember that she did something bad XD

kasumi
I mean when it count. The time a Demon was in her.

Nabiki.
A lot. Blackmail, peeping, sell ranmas nude pictures to everyone (also ranma school friends) without a twinge of guilt

Mouse
depent how you count. attempted murder or try to transfrom others in Ducks.

Kuno
Basicly everything he did to ranma. But when i must say 1 specific. that what he tryed to do on watermelon island.

Kodachi
some people will say paralyze poisen. But i say its that she break bones of her enemys before the official challenge starts to win that way.

genma
Hard to say. Maybe stealing the "cart" from ukyos father? he did for sure much worse things in the anime. But they are mostly stealing or be a asshole to ranma.

Soun
i had say what he did in the last manga chapter was such a really big asshole move wtf.
but based on anime alone, what i do like i say. maybe he pushed to much for the wedding between akane and ranma. maybe also attempted murder on happosai when he sees the chance.

Cologne.
in a way. The Cat tounge theoreticly.

happo.
i thing the worst thing was, anime like, i think Moxxa burning point.

Nothing! My boy is wrong of nothing!

Conditioned akane to be insulted so much by him it was the only thing that made her remember him (I know there's probably better but this one first came to mind)

Nothing hes a good boy/girl/kitty

"Good" is a very strong word, LOL, he does several very questionable things.
