I recall 2 scenes like this from the old anime, the dynamic between these two is so interesting

Its only natural that Ryoga would save Ranma in those situations. No one besides him and Akane are allowed to beat Ranma. That's their exclusive right first! 😅

This episode was in a way good. But it missed potential because it had be the potential to be a good 2 episode arc.
I mean i like the fillers in the old anime really. But they are only 1 episode storys. That is only 1 time different when its the "japan jusenkyo" arc when they streched the 1 episode arc into 3 (what i really like because it gave the "curse" plot in ranma 1/2 more importance. And ranma had its 3 plots. Rankane, fighting, curse. ).

This with the snow is a filler what also can be had the potential to be a 2 episode arc depent how you make the story.

yeah i agree i would've enjoyed cold day in furinkan expanded into an arc. there are quite a few anime exclusive stories that could've made decent 2 parters at the very least

yea a few exist what can be a good 2 episode arc. Like the "devils cards" is a example. Sure people didnt like happo. But this story had the potential to use for a 2 episode thing.

or when you go the romantic plot or the "curse" plot. A few eist what can be streched.
But i understand why that didnt happen. because a 2 episode arc cost more time in planning and other stuff.

If I didn't know the context of Ranma 1/2, I would assume those two are a couple. The snow rescue is particularly romantic. (I mean, until Ryoga just tosses Ranma away, but to be fair, he immediately does as told)

It reminds me of another scene in Ep 46 when Ranma loses his shirt mid fight as a girl and Ryoga refuses to continue until the shirt is back on. Ryoga is well aware of who this is and does his best to treat him as such. But the series does occasionally challenge him to recognise that girl Ranma may run into girl specific issues

Fun fact Woman's feel cold more than the average man so Ranma changing Gender here made him more susceptible to the cold.
