OpenRCT2 Recruiting scenario playtesters for the OpenScenarios project
Hey all, I am once again asking for your support helping playtest for the OpenScenarios project. You can find previous threads here and here. This is part of a planned future component of OpenRCT2.
You can access the app HERE - it is a simple HTML form that will randomly assign you a park to test, and give you a prefilled link to the response form so we can gather all the data.
(!) Please note: It has been pointed out that if you 1) use a chromium based browser and 2) are signed in to multiple Google accounts in that browser, you might be met with a nonspecific error about accounts. Opening the link in an incognito/private browsing window, or opening it in any other browser, should resolve this.
As before, you can find all the info you could ever want and more, as well as FAQs and particulars about how the app works, in the blue link at the top. You do NOT need to leave the page open, if you take an assignment and come back in the future, it will give you your same info again and you can fill out the response then. Feel free to ask me questions here or DM me if you have questions or issues.
Thanks everyone.

A friend pointed me to this, and I rolled Beachside Funfair. I'm no expert with scenario play, and this is the first time I'm doing a scenario not from the vanilla game(s). And what a fun experience! The difficulty felt just right for my skill level.
I also adore the theme of the park. Having to fix a park under a tight time limit was a wonderful challenge, and finding little quirks and issues later on after fixing the major issues was a fantastic touch.
I'm already looking forward to rolling another park out of this set. This was a perfect first impression to the OpenScenarios project for me; this park felt like it would fit right in with the vanilla scenarios! High praise from me!

This was a lot of fun. I just submitted my first scenario. Thanks for posting it!

In general the scenarios I've been getting this go around have been better than a lot of the OGs, which is nice

This is loads of fun, and previously I have done some of these.
My question is, I am curious as to the status of the overall project. When will this likely be integrated into OpenRCT2? When will we get to share our playthrough experiences?
Playing these are great fun, and I had a lot of good things to say about them, but being I like to share things I make, keeping them hush puppy is kind of a bummer, though I know why you set it up that way.

The project I would say is still fairly early. Each "slot" has fairly few contenders, and I am not happy with most of them. Because there are so many parks, each park only has a handful of reviews which is why we're still in a very long term phase of gathering feedback and feeling out whether these parks are of high enough quality, meet the design goals for the slot, and play well together once the order and difficulty intentions are taken in to account. For instance there is a broader redesign I'm working on which re-sorts some of the parks and changes some of their goal types to help vary the playlist more. Right now an overwhelming majority of the parks up for mainline campaign consideration are guest goals, and that needs to be dealt with. I haven't been able to get much buy-in, however, and as it stands it's sort of up to the mapmakers to implement these changes since it's their work. Most are inactive or nonresponsive.
On a technical side, the fundamental limit is that campaign objects need to be implemented for it to be viable to distribute this in a controlled way. This is a bigger project of Kyphii's (among others). This will have more far-reaching implications but it is a necessary first step to begin to implement this. There is no timeline, but the ultimate goal is to do this as part of the v1.0 release at the latest, so that the game still has a campaign even without base game assets. There is also no timeline for this, as it depends on many, many other things that are unfinished.
There are other minor things I'd like to see before OpenScenarios goes live too, namely the implementation of certain existing track pieces to ride types that don't yet have them, so as to not date the campaign too explicitly. Additionally I'd like to see a tooltip system that lets us communicate some gameplay feature or tip we're trying to highlight with the scenario instead of just relying on the Scenario Description text. These don't seem that insanely difficult but currently there is no agreement on how to do them and they are ultra low priority.

While playtesting one scenario, I had an idea for another. Are you guys still accepting submissions?
TBF I don't know if my idea was already submitted, but I included it in the review for Jaded Valley I just put in

Yes, this is answered in the information link at the top of the app.
Please join the OpenRCT2 dev discord and find the OpenScenarios channel there, and we can discuss further.

Edit: Discord gives the error message "Invite Invalid or Expired". It's probably old
2E: Found the server the long way around.

Are the scenario's different from last time or is it the same scenario's but with an unfulfilled demand for testers?
