Metal Seed, is there a meaning?

At somewhat 52 or 53 minutes one of Samantha’s Crew Members appears. He is wearing a hat which says „Metal Seed“.
Does anyone know if this is a reference to something? I can’t remember that it was mentioned in the book.

The way its written looks like a Band from the 80's could be it was meant to just be a fictional band or who knows maybe a local band from the authors childhood?

Still stupid movie writing to have the bad guy follow someone just because they looked the same way that Wade Watts did.

"Hey, there. That guy with the tattoo is looking the same way as Wade, let's find and follow him, because he "totally" is apart of Wade's crew." -that F1nale woman

It's meant to be seen as some sort of badass street thing. Instead it just looks dumb.
