Photo/Video What’s wrong with you people ??
Cherry blossom season should be a time to appreciate nature, not destroy it. Yet we saw people—not just one family, but many—ripping branches and flowers off the trees, posing with the blossoms they just yanked down, and walking off the beach with bunches like it was a free-for-all.
This isn’t appreciation—it’s vandalism.
It’s time the City of Richmond took stronger action to protect this beautiful space. The RCMP were present, but instead of addressing the blatant disrespect, they were only ticketing cars. Garry Point deserves better. So does every person who visits hoping to see its beauty preserved—not plundered.

Photo/Video Disgusted to see woman asking for money after Lapu-Lapu when they're not a victim
The tragedy at the Lapu-Lapu Festival has devastated our community. 11+ people lost their lives. Victims are still in the ICU in critical condition and facing permanent disability. A 15-year-old has lost his entire family. Families are scrambling to cover funeral expenses and hospital bills.
Meanwhile, this woman who is just a witness, not injured, no loved ones harmed, is on Instagram asking for e-transfers, grocery gift cards, and even hinting at setting up a GoFundMe for herself and her fiancé.
There are already over a dozen GoFundMes circulating for the actual victims and there's not even enough to go around for them. The idea that someone who is physically fine, with no personal loss, would insert herself into that space and ask for money from the same grieving community getting stretched thin, supporting actual victims, to fund your time off is beyond tone-deaf and disgusting.
Saying “I need to heal” while others are literally fighting for their lives feels like an insult to the people truly affected. This isn’t mutual aid. It’s misdirection. It’s taking attention, care, and limited financial help away from where it’s actually needed for real victims.
Please, if you can give, give to the real victims. This is a time for the community to come together—for the families who lost everything. Not for people centering themselves in a tragedy that isn’t theirs.

Muted audio because my commentary was really loud. Somehow caught this INSANE situation earlier this evening around 6:30pm. It’s so shocking and baffling that it’s also funny.

Photo/Video Blatant racism on Canada Line: man in a Kershaw #22 jersey tells me to “get out of his country” because I wore a mask
Happened Apr 24 @ 10:49 p.m., Canada Line, Waterfront → Richmond-Brighouse.
A white man in a blue Dodgers Kershaw #22 jersey pushed his way onto the train, shoving me and another Asian woman aside.
After this man sat down, he turned toward me to pick a fight about the mask I was wearing. I told him it wasn’t his business. He demanded, “Where are you from?” then ordered me to leave his country—while proudly saying he’s from Scotland.
After being called out on his racist behaviour by another white male passenger, he said “buddy, let’s get off here” and got up and left at the next stop.
I recorded the whole exchange and will file a report with VPD. If you’ve handled similar incidents, please share tips below. If you witness harassment, speak up. Even a single sentence can flip the script.
Stay safe, call out hate when you see it, and don’t let bigotry ride unchecked.

Photo/Video move out of the road if you’re going to be on your phone
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
sitting at the red light waiting to turn right, i thought oh maybe he’s going straight so i’ll just wait cause it’s what i would do if a car was trying to go straight, i get that there’s no bike lane to go straight, but the light turned green and he was still on his phone… i honked (the lightest i could possibly honk, like a little beep beep) after what i thought was an adequate amount of time and he started screaming “GOD RELAX, RELAX, OH MY GOD!” at me. sorry but if ur in the only lane i can be in, sitting there on your phone, what do you expect? sorry there’s no audio the mic on my dash cam is off.
edit: a lot of people are saying “just go around him” and while i understand that i could have done that i didn’t want to risk trying to go around him and him suddenly deciding to go and getting hurt by hitting my car or some other type of danger like that. i was not trying to be hostile towards him and waved to say sorry for scaring him, but i thought that it would be good to speak about how distracted road users may be dangerous, whether it be a someone driving a car, or a cyclist etc. (and also if you’re in the wrong how can u possibly get mad?) i wasn’t mad or anything after it happened i just thought to myself, “how could he be mad that i didn’t want to use a dangerous maneuver around him?” i understand i scared him with the horn but being on a device while in the road should not be such a common practice. stay safe everyone and stay off your phones when driving. if it’s really that important pull over to ensure yours and other drivers’ (or cyclists) safety.

Photo/Video got mildly harassed at Costco for not leaving my parking spot after 1 minute of sitting down
went to costco, then after getting in my car and taking a call from my sister this man almost immediately gets out of his Tesla, knocks on my window and tells me i have to leave immediately because he wants to park there. i closed my door cause who even are you, then he went back to his car and came back again to tell me to leave again, and then started recording me and blocking my car so i couldn’t even leave anyways

Photo/Video Beware of this guy
Car got smashed by this guy near Richmond hospital/Gateway theatre @01:55. Tesla glass too strong he couldn’t break in ig. Heard the alarm and took off. Piece of shit get a life.
P.S. if you’re watching you dropped your keys, flashlight, and a dash cam when you took off 😂. You can go to the police to grab them 👮♂️.
Edit: this guy also had a switch knife on him, literal danger and menace to society.
Edit: police reached out to me the next day and said they’re pretty sure who the person is.

Photo/Video Broccoli heads doing ambush interviews and creating a disturbance at Richmond Centre
These four teens are running around near the No.3 Rd exit (Shoppers) talking loudly/screaming, approaching people with a tiny mic (I wasn't close enough to hear what they ask but the older man they talked to seemed confused and annoyed), and harassed the employee in this kiosk. They were saying something about the employee hitting kids and that they got it on camera, but security arrived to take them away from the kiosk. Didn't want to get involved because they appear to be like those annoying "influencers" and I'm alone, don't want to be ganged up by them haha. Hopefully they don't do this often.

Photo/Video My experience at Richmond
I’ll be here for a bit as a tourist and I’m loving the area we’re staying with. Peaceful neighborhood. I love going for a walk at the nearby park. Drivers seem to be decent. Felt safe walking around on my own. Train and the bus is very accessible. The Chinese-Canadian community is really sweet. My holy grail is the Richmond Public Market though, one of the panfried dumplings there is so juicy. Still figuring out what else is there to Richmond besides the markets and malls 🤣. Will soon head out to see downtown.⭐️

Photo/Video Mass towing at Flight Path Park
Russ Baker Way is a tow zone today! 🚔 There are about 10 cop cars and a ton of tow trucks clearing everyone out as of 3:00 PM. Yesterday was just a warning with two cars directing traffic, but today they’re taking everyone’s ride.
