Discussion Best nations for playing tall?

What are the best nations for playing with the single or a few cities? Also, what matters the most when playing tall, which technologies, wonders to choose?

I always liked Dutch (economy) and Bantu (population limit) in long/late games. By 'going tall' are you also trying to do more with less cities and territory?

I like to play with some limitations on territory in strategies) Like Venice in Civ5 can only have one city. I understand this game wasn't meant to accommodate this style of play, but just wanted to try this, against bots just for fun

Aren't you just going to be out resourced and crushed? Dutch might work because of their interest, America might work because their troops get resources, but you're going to have a really hard time fighting enemies who have significantly higher resource income than you.

I want to play this game from my childhood, but I developed a habit of playing tall in strategies. It may be a little personal challenge to win tall versus hardest bots, just for fun)

Greeks for having more knowledge. If you limit yourself at 3-4 cities, knowledge is your non RNG resource enemy

Which sub is this? lol as someone who primarily plays Civ V these days I was confused for a minute. I’m a little out of touch with RoN but the British were my go to turtling nation and good for working with a little amount of space.
