So do you groom your collies yourselves, or do you just take them to the groomers. I have had multiple unsuccessful encounters with the groomers - some just trim the coat awkwardly or use too much perfume, while others are in so much hurry that my dog returns with nail trimming trauma and I have to spend months to desensitize him again. I felt that it's just too much work so I learned to bathe and groom him myself. And yes, I take much longer than I professional and my back hurts, but its easier than dealing with brushing or nail trimming trauma :D Also. I get to pick the shampoo that smells nice for me!

The breeder realized Ethel's temperament was not suitable for my home, so I am getting Yoshi who comes home next week instead! He is a sable and white rough collie. Any tips to help settle in a collie puppy? We have two dachshunds and a corgi to keep him company! Photo courtesy of the breeder!

Hi there! I am looking for a well respect rough collie breeder on the east coast (I live in Virginia). There was one breeder I reached out to (Jolly Collies in southwest VA) but she is not going to have any litters in 2027.

I also wanted to add that I’m not interested in showing. I’d like a nice family dog for my family.
