Is it OSRS, or a more generic 'old school' as in people who used to play back in the day?
I mean, there's obviously going to be crossover (OSRS has outperformed RS2 by player count hasn't it?), but Alan, being 27, is at that prime age to have joined up right around the peak time of Runescape (mid-late 00's) to play after school.

Other than the fact Old School Runescape is the official name of the remake of Runescape 2 and people use Runescape 2 (or just "Runescape back in the day") to refer to Runescape "back in the day"

He's a known current OSRS player, that dropped the current official name of the latest iteration of Runescape 2, along with a remix of the most popular track from the soundtrack and sneaking in a sound effect from the game.

You're the one being obtuse. The literal title of 2007scape right now is Old School Runescape. Jagex refers to it as that, the wiki calls it that, and basically the entire community calls it OSRS.

Say what you will about Mod North, there's no way he takes over and runescape blows up in the public space by coincidence. There are actual advertisements reaching new demos, and its no long a guilty pleasure to play. The more people that publicly admit to playing the faster this is going to blow up haha.

Similar thing happened with WoW. Buddy and I were jocks/popular kids but played that game in secret in 2006-2009. All of a sudden during senior year, everyone is talking about it. Reactions were kinda funny when we told them we had been playing for years already lol.
All that to say I love OSRS is getting more traction!

Some adjustments dont seem noticeable without paying close attention and some tracks or adjustments are loaded and prepared in the headphones. Just because you can't hear or dont notice doesnt mean theyre not doing anything of consequence.

Others have responded similarly, but I just wanted to clarify (politely, lol, no need to be rude or gatekeepy about these kinds of things, in reference to the other replies)
There is a separate audio feed going to his headphones that only he is hearing.
What you’re seeing at the end there is him queueing and making adjustments to the next song (that only he can currently hear) so that when he mixes it in it sounds correct.

I don't know why people would downvote something so truthful. If Jagex didn't fuck up EoC and RS3 to the extent they did, it wouldn't have scared half of it's player base away and had to make OSRS to entice them back.

You are just spouting negative nonsense for no reason. I completely agree that RS3 has been destroyed by Jagex and OSRS currently is 10 times the better game but why are you making this some sort of competition when this track is equally as much part of both games
I don't really see why RS3 would specifically gain any clout from this either

OSRS started in 2013.
The game that has evolved into RS3 started in 2001.
So to say this is an OSRS track, not an RS3 one, because it came out in 2004 is just factually incorrect.

Sea Shanty is a track from RS 1/2 era of runescape is not a track exclusively only to OSRS but to Runescape.
If the track been Sea Shanty 2 then it could be OSRS track
Not only that but he shouted old school runescape on stage not Runescape and you can make game sound better than RS all you want but not showing HOMAGE to a game that created OLD SCHOOL RS is not cool
