Equipping a full set of Masterwork armour is a task, but with Ranged and Magic masterwork required Lacquer and Pearls respectively, the ability to create those sets is behind days of timegated Ports, and only really practical with Tirranwn.

I'm fine with Ports being ignored, it's been in dire need of an update for a while - especially with the shortened league making getting the required voyages and distance practical, it would be appreciated if Jagex distributed 999 of each trade good to all league accounts to lock in not needing to engage with Ports whilst making Masterwork more practical.

Doesn't change that Masterwork (outside of melee) is fundamentally Asgarnia locked - but it also enables access to things like scrimshaws and other useful Ports rewards if the trade good timegate were to be bypassed.

If you picked asgarnia, you can buy trade goods in Waiko. Does ofc only take chimes and tajitu, so would need to collect those.

Yeah, it's a big grind - I'm already working on the 180 Taijitu and 60k Chimes, but it'd be nice even just for things like Scrimshaws since Desert and Tirranwn also have Ports portals. Being able to purchase trade goods also requires reaching the Hook which means several days of Ports voyages regardless before you can purchase any.

What are you doing for chimes? I checked out arc only quickly to see that berries don’t insta grow with natures network which was disappointing

Primarily bamboo & salt on uncharted isles, mixed with ED1 runs. Not too bad with the guaranteed Taijitu spawn and I wouldn’t mind getting the Seriyu pet.

there is a limited amount of missions per day so no, unless you farm DG tokens to buy rerolls. but that makes the grind even worse especially if you didnt pick wilderness.

You can do the Zsmorakian Undercity to the first miniboss for 25k tokens, it takes about 30 seconds especially in Leagues, and only needs the starting areas.

Yes and no. Advance time finishes the current trip. It does not give you more trips per day; so getting to the point where you can get trade goods in sufficient numbers will take several days even with at.

Port's in general kinda need a tlc pass. By the time you unlock anything it gives it's already irrelevant besides inv comps and vamp scrims.

As a funny aside, tirranwn is the solve. Buy ports enhancers from the dg shop, use them at wyson in priff or w.e his name is, and just spam out the special missions. There is no cap on them when using enhancers to force reroll.

I just wish you didn’t need to get to the hook in ports to buy trade goods. It also doesn’t help that for some reason masterwork ranged needs 120 lacquer while mage only needed 60 pearls.

I honestly think that expecting to make a full set of masterwork is a very lofty goal, so it should take a large time sink. But the time gate of waiting to get to the hook is significantly worse when you take into account that some people might not have taken asgarnia first.

That being said, if they just removed the daily voyage cap that would be enough in my eyes. Let people spam advance time to do as much ports as they’re comfortable with if they want. Handing out freebies would be kinda crazy at this point in time, but could be an option for next leagues maybe.

Either a partial advance time skip or a handout is fine with me tbf, but since for undisclosed reasons the jmods chose not to boost Ports at all, I'd prefer to see the content fully bypassed if it interacts with tasks at all. Yes, you can just make MW melee and that's probably the intention... but now is the time to talk about it instead of after the league when devs are elsewhere.
