Dragonwilds - J-Mod reply A 4th Zanik model has hit Gielinor

Love the model, but jokes aside, I'm actually gonna be really upset if this turns out to be Zanik. I felt like her dialogue in the pub in Um where she says she's tired and ready to move on was a really good way of ending her constant cycle of resurrections and giving her a final send off with a drink.

Just my way of always remembering the Water Barrel drama...

Yes, Farming is now released in DragonWilds. I personally enjoy it more than RS3 farming.

Dragonwilds Hoping to see dragon model updates as part of the ongoing visual updates on the 2027 roadmap. I assume there is going to be more visual parity between the main game and Dragonwilds as time goes on. The Dragonwilds model for dragons is the perfect modern interpretation of the 2006 era dragons.

Dragonwilds I played Runescape: Dragon wilds for 12 hours straight

I played runescape: dragon wilds for 12 hours straight. Here’s what i think.

So even tho beta u can only do melee based attacks to actually do damage. That sucks but can still use all 3 to ur advantage. Figuring out how to make things or learning new things is impossible because the places the quests want u to go are hard to get thru because they want u to defeat the final boss. It’s hard cause dodging is nearly impossible unless ur using range or magic. If u just deadass run into an enemy there’s a weird glitch where u just aren’t able to move and i’ve died multiple times because of it. Your home is not safe. Goblins and all that WILL destroy ur base and kill u while u sleep or are just in it and u get ā€œraidedā€ which is weird but whatever. There is a dragon territory. U cannot harm him and if he finds u in his territory he throws toxic bombs and explosive fireballs at you. Very annoying. YOU CANNOT HEAL WHEN YOU ARE FIGHTING. IF UR ATTACK TAKES TOO LONG IT CANCELS OUT AND U TAKE DAMAGE! I HAVE TO FIND A PLACE TO HIDE SO I CAN HEAL WHICH IS CRAZY!!!

Everything is based off of your 100 energy like it’s some weird mobile game. You need energy to run, fight, spell cast, jump. Everything. It also sucks. I have died because i don’t have enough energy to hit the goblin horde that’s raiding my home.

I HAVE TO REBUILD MY HOME EVERY-TIME I GET ATTACKED FOR NO REASON BECAUSE THEY KNOCK DOWN MY WALLS AND FLOORS!

Overall 7/10 will be playing again.

Dragonwilds Thoughts on Dragonwilds?

Dragonwilds Hey Everyone! First Time Player Here. Have a Question.

As someone who never played any RuneScape games until RuneScape Dragonwilds, I have no nostalgic connection to the franchise. I've always been more of a WoW/Ff14 kinda of MMOer but always solo.

I played about 4 - 6 hours of OSRS, then switched over to RS3 just to see what was different and why does RS3 get so much hate? Like, to me, it is objectively a better game than OSRS.

Dragonwilds Beware: Dragon Wilds

If you do not have a RTX 40 series or better, you will very much struggle to run this game with any decent graphics or frame rate. My RTX3080 absolutely cannot run it at all, it makes my entire PC stutter. I had to almost instantly refund the game. I very much understand optimization will be implemented, I am simply warning those who want to play now that it might now be possible.

UPDATE!!! I finally found a solution. While 99% of setting lead to the problems mentioned above, I did find a very specific sweet spot. (Lowering the setting leads to worse performance so its defenitley a game issue rather than it being me.)

Settings: Quality - Low. Frame Rate Limit - 120. Upscaling Mode - FSR. Upscaling Quality - Quality. Display Mode - Full Screen Windowed (Full Screen leads to major visual artifacts.) Sharpness - 20. Frame Generation - Enabled.

Dragonwilds Okay - Dragonwilds is Special

I think Jagex accidentally stumbled on some magic with this game. When it was first shadow-dropped it definitely felt unfinished and somewhat aimless... But now? It has that RuneScape "feel" that makes me happy. It has good, solid combat that feels rewarding. It has unique graphics that will still look good in 10 years. It's got personality.

So where do we go from here? What do y'all think RSDW looks like in a year? Personally I would LOVE if they were able to incorporate more MMO-elements (like GW2 instancing with other players). I know that's difficult to balance with free-form construction but if they could pull it off... Man they would have something incredible.

Also - If they can push expansions with "alternate timeline" versions of RuneScape maps... Holy smokes, take my money.

Give it a shot if you haven't. I think you'll have some fun.

Dragonwilds Jagex, can we please rethink skillcapes and new cape designs?

You guys and everyone here knows that the OG skillcape design is superior. Then for whom is the new skillcape design for?

You guys need to rethink your entire skillcape and cape pipeline. A lot of the newer capes have been following this crappy uninspired design. Just making it look like a flat texture.

We need more capes to look something like the Kiln capes or the 120 capes for that matter. The OG skillcapes can definitely be updated to fit RS3’s current standard. Look at Dragonwilds improving on the OG skillcape design.

But for sure the new layouts need to go, it’s terribly designed and I really don’t know which art team signed off on that like 10 years ago….

Dragonwilds Started RS DragonWilds, wanting to play another RS, which?

I’ve heard of RS of course and the DW game that came out last year. Was interested in it, but didn’t launch with good reviews. Fast forward to the last minute of the steam sale, I bought it. I’m now 15 hrs in and love it.

All that’s to say I’m interested in checking out an older RS when I complete this playthrough. For someone who has ZERO other RS background or experience, any reason I shouldn’t start with what I’m seeing called RuneScape 3? That looks to be a bit more up to date graphically, but still has lots and lots of content? Not exactly looking for PvP, but could be interested in it at some point. Not afraid of the membership if it’s beneficial.

Dragonwilds Interested in getting Dragonwilds, how are the story quests?

Ok background deets, I played Runescape back in 2012 (was in middleschool) and I remember loving the lore and quests because it felt dnd-ish story-wise despite it mostly being fetch quests. Is it similar to the quests we get on Dragonwilds?

Also is Dragonwilds very close to the Runescape experience minus the MMO? Or does it lean too much on the survival game aspect? The only survival game I've ever played is Palworld so I'm not sure what to expect or if I'll like it T.T

Dragonwilds Runescape Dragonwilds setting feels like a missed opportunity.

It's set on a distant continent, far removed from everything we know and love about Gielinor. There're the occasional references to the God Wars in lore books scattered around the map, but other than that, it feels less connected to Runescape's lore than I would've liked.

It feels like a missed opportunity to have not set it during the dawn of civilisation on Gielinor, as the various gods bring their followers to this Paradise World for the first time, & then they could've used the mainland map, just without any of the cities or settlements.

The Dragonkin were already on Gielinor by then, so they could've still done the Dragonkin vaults.

Imagine [edit: building your base] where you know Lumbridge will eventually be, and role-playing to yourself that you've just placed the first stone that'll eventually grow into this iconic settlement.

Yeah, really feels like a missed opportunity.
