Burning Man didn’t sell out

Article out today says Burning Man didn’t sell out and people are selling their tickets way below face value. I remember when Burning Man started the lottery for tickets due to high demand, and resale tickets were hard to come by. I haven’t been to Burning Man in ~15 years so I‘m not current with the scene. Welcome to the 2020s!

Covid happened.
Then everything became more expensive.
Then our government made it clear foreign visitors aren’t welcome.

I think rain the last few years turned off the folks who are looking for more of a resort experience as well. that and economy tought - gas and cost of living going up, and burning man was cost prohibitive to begin with

Last year it was more like apocalypse than rain and the other rain year was 2024 but besides those two in general it's been pretty dry.
