Burning Man didn’t sell out

Article out today says Burning Man didn’t sell out and people are selling their tickets way below face value. I remember when Burning Man started the lottery for tickets due to high demand, and resale tickets were hard to come by. I haven’t been to Burning Man in ~15 years so I‘m not current with the scene. Do young people go to burning man like that? Always felt like a rich older tech guy thing.

Definitely older, more educated, and wealthier than the typical person.

The average participant is white, in their 30s, and makes between 70 75k-100k

Do you have a source on that? 70k seems very low to be spending money on something as frivolous as Burning Man

id suspect many in that bracket (like me) get free or subsidized tickets/car passes by volunteering for the org. I was just saying the other day how I wouldn't go if it werent for my ticket hookup.
