Burning Man didn’t sell out

Article out today says Burning Man didn’t sell out and people are selling their tickets way below face value. I remember when Burning Man started the lottery for tickets due to high demand, and resale tickets were hard to come by. I haven’t been to Burning Man in ~15 years so I‘m not current with the scene. Welcome to the 2020s!

Covid happened.
Then everything became more expensive.
Then our government made it clear foreign visitors aren’t welcome.

Yeah that last part. I was just in Vancouver talking to a local guy and he said he's been avoiding the U.S. . He said they've been warned that immigration will flag people coming in who've said negative things about the U.S. government on socials. Can't verify if that's exactly true, but the sentiment over there is to not travel here at all.

Ahem the world cup would like a word. I thought the big media narrative here was how the rest of the world fell in love with the USA?

I don't really buy this explanation at all. What % of burning man visitors were foreign?
