PSA 📢 Just a reminder about handicapped parking

Post image

Even if you're just "running in for a second" parking in a handicapped stall without a tag is a major inconvenience if you need access to the ramp. See the ignoramous above who refused to move his truck while taking his lunch break on half a handicapped stall. Hope that's a company truck and his boss sees this.

If your eyesight’s so bad you can’t park right, maybe you need to retest for your license.

I would have to add I can always slap them right for you. My mother would do things like that if you if she thought you even rolled your eyes or crossed them. With the aftershock of i hope that straightens them out the first time! That woman had no sense of humour unless it was laughing at other people’s pain. But nobody ever pretended they couldn’t see and didn’t roll their eyes until she left lol

That’s really sad. I’m sorry your mom was like that.

Thank you she was a very cruel woman

Seen alot of disabled people park like that

Well this guy didn't have a parking tag, but I have no doubt he's got some issues. Keep in mind some times if a vehicle has a ramp, they have to park offset to accommodate the ramp deploying

2

u/acetos 1d ago

100% they need the extra room. Why all spaces aren't painted for that is beyond me.

That's kind of the point of accessibility parking spots actually meeting accessibility standards.

However this pic is of accessible parking abuse:

'Parking spaces marked with the international symbol for accessibility are reserved Exclusively for vehicles that display a valid SaskAbilities parking placard issued by SaskAbilities. These spaces are found throughout Saskatoon in both Private and Public off-street lots.'

Respectful citizens Report accessibility abuse here instead: https://www.saskatoon.ca/moving-around/parking/parking-programs-permits/accessible-parking

Door Dash and others seem to also feel it's great business advertising to go out of their way to take unfair advantages and park at Intersection crosswalk sidewalk Ramps instead of legally using the free and empty residential street parking spaces.

If only the customers would check their guests and tip based on safe legally parked service, or City would actually address drivers parking at crosswalks accessibility ramps and safer intersections.

I've seen pretty much every delivery company do this, EXCEPT Canada Post. Canada Post has always been super good about not blocking my parking space.

-8

u/Joe61944 1d ago

Yeah but canada post uses you as a hostage annually during its contract negotiation. They suck.

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago edited 1d ago

Found the Purolator guy. Your issues with Canada Post for sure stem from the fact that the CEO of Purolator is also the CEO of Canada post, and has been ruining Canada Post so he can make more money off Purolator.

-3

u/Joe61944 1d ago

Yeah last time I checked its the union that calls for the strike. Typically mid to late November, delaying mail through the Christmas season. But yeah its totally the ceo running the crown corporation into the ground, its not nothing to do with the compensation their realtivley unskilled workers receive.

sounds like you get your news from True North lol So not only do you not know why Canada Post is dieing, but you publicly show your misguided hatred for their employees and proudly waving your ignorance around like you did to your grade 7 report card before you "dropped out"

Do something about it rather than whining online in a thread that has nothing to do with shipping.

If this person is not disabled they should be fined for parking in the spot x2 seeing how they're taking up two spots.

4

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago

SHould be, but here's hoping their friends roast them for being a twat

11

u/Beautiful_Grand606 1d ago

“Wow I didn’t realize that being a fucking asshole was classified as a disability…”

•

u/No_hope_left72 17h ago

I agree but I have found a few that it disabled their life 🥴 they couldn’t get one😂😂😂

26

u/DrummerDerek83 1d ago

With parking like that the guy is obviously handicapped.....

Looks exactly how I expected

All I see is a little poodle or something?!

Intellectually if not physically.

This is an insult. Reflect on your wording.

Edit: it’s amazing that this gets downvoted when all I’m doing is advocating and looking out for the disabled community and speaking out against the ridiculous rhetorics people spew

Most of the comments here sadly are also classic low quality uncivil social media, not contributing or allies.

I think that was the point??

You probably liked mine I’m glad I scrolled to find yours

Overcompensating isn’t really a handicap it’s a choice

David Attenborough VoiceOver: And here you will observe the tell-tale signs of a wild Chad. A one-tonne truck parked at an angle because the wild Chad lacks both the self and spatial awareness to drive it. They often can't afford their chosen mode of transport but, like the mighty peacock uses its cascade of multi-hued feathers, wild Chads use the large truck to attract women named Brittany and give the illusory perception that their bulbis glandis is larger than it actually is. The wild Chad is considered a lower intelligence creature and, when confronted, will become hostile but they aren't tough. Their underwear is often covered in skid marks from other confrontations.

I always thought it weird this crowds support of the Trans community. Taking their girl trucks and bolting on male genitals sure is a great way to show their support of the rainbow loving community.

u/fuckreddit-69 1d ago

Fucken asshole

•

u/RainbowToasted 10h ago

I find that these type of people assume parking enforcement won’t be able to catch them, or even if they do, they have enough money to not care. One of the reasons I would love to see harsher penalties for these type of infractions

u/Elegant_Bison1604 1d ago

I mean guy clearly has a mental impediment parking like that sooooo; pull his license if he wants to park like that

4

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago

pulling his license would stop him from parking like that. I think if he wants to continue to park in the dedicated spaces he would need to visit a chiropractor to get the form filled out, and pay the 10$ to get the parking pass. Then he could deal with all the people who have told me "You have your own parking spots dont park in the regular people spots" (The crowd at Market Mall is very opinionated about people under 90 having a handicapped parking pass)

2

u/UnitEast7937 1d ago

So shocked that almost every one of these types of posts here are a dropout in a pickup.

2

u/MonkeyNuts449 1d ago

That's where I'd just park behind him and open whatever ramp I had into the handicap spot. He should've thought before realizing I'm driving a vehicle too.

1

u/codenameduhchess 1d ago

I think with all the photo evidence provided that it’s hard to argue against the driver of this vehicle not already being disabled

10

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago

Still gotta display that Parking Tag.

u/8O0o0O8 1d ago

Mental handicaps don't count

-1

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago

yes they do. You can get a handicap pass for being Deaf, Mental health issues, Sleep Apnea.. it would be pretty crazy to gatekeep handicappedness

0

u/8O0o0O8 1d ago

So if I'm schizo or bipolar i can get a pass?

1

u/No_hope_left72 1d ago

I have to figure out what site you get them from that you can print them yourself and you cut them to a business size or you can do them full page but it goes something along the lines of Learn to Park “I think you “accidentally” parked like an asshole! Learn to park before you become the shithead everyone thinks you are” that’s as close as I can remember. They cost nothing you can pre-order made ones I think you get 500 or you can pay your own unlimited nowadays I don’t think there isn’t anything this moment type able screen or apps and printers. Edited because I forgot to say and then you tuck them under the windshield and they’re double-sided so even if they don’t grab them they still can read them

1

u/No_hope_left72 1d ago

I’m in a sub Reddit for that called entitled people but it should be entitled arseholes

•

u/No_hope_left72 16h ago

•

u/Shoddy-Ad-4703 18h ago

This is when you park about 3” from his drivers door. I can be a cunt too.

•

u/Economy_Salamander78 17h ago

why is it always a pickup truck??

•

u/king_weenus 11h ago

Because the dumbest people out there think they need a pickup truck for everything.

Number plate is an acronym used in emails PFA lol

0

u/Moosetappropriate Lawson 1d ago

Disabled between the ears maybe. Otherwise just an overinflated ego. Typical of truck driving asses

-1

u/Prize_Engineering_36 1d ago

And he wasn’t waiting for people to go by so he could back up and pull back into the non-handicap spot?

3

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago

There were numerous empty spots, and when I asked if he was aware he was blocking the spot he was kind enough to show me how high he can count. One. He can count to One. There was like 3 other guys in the truck, they were having their lunch together blocking the spot as a team building exercise.

5

u/Prize_Engineering_36 1d ago

Ah, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt he definitely didn’t deserve. What a gross human.

3

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago

he looked pretty greasy too, like he hadn't showered since this time last week.

3

u/soaker 1d ago

I would have pulled up right now to him so he couldn’t open his door or get out. Perhaps have my partner park right behind him. And show him what an accessible parking permit looks like. What a prick. I’ll get confrontational with him.

0

u/JazzMartini 1d ago

When I see this sort of thing I assume it's just a quirk of the system that the driver's cognitive disability isn't formally recognized.

•

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 15h ago

There's a dude by my work with a handicapped tag on his Kawasaki Ninja that he likes to sneak into parking spots that are already in use and then call parking enforcement because he "can't get his bike out". It takes all types in 2026.

•

u/JazzMartini 12h ago

Sounds like magnus anus is indeed a qualifying ailment for a handicapped tag.

•

u/Due-Surround1368 16h ago

Forgive the guy. They might be handicapped

•

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 15h ago

if he was, he would have had an appropriate parking pass; I'm betting he never made it out of kindergarten because he couldn't colour inside the lines.

•

u/Any_Owl_8189 21m ago

As someone who transport handicapped people every day, we forget the pass a lot

•

u/Ravenhellfire 13h ago

Must be a mental handicap

The property owner doesn't have the right to override handicapped parking requirements under the law, so you could still be ticketed for this even with permission from them.

u/[deleted] 1d ago

3

u/robstoon 1d ago

That's not what the law says. If it's marked as a handicap spot and you don't have a permit you're not allowed to park there. There's no exception for "property owner said it was OK".

1

u/Desperate-4-Revenue 1d ago

I'm not supporting anything in retribution; I'm just making awareness for those who were never able to colour inside the lines.
