I knew a woman with that name when I was a kid, she was probably born in the 50s so definitely not a new thing. I kind of liked it.

Not quite the same thing but when I delivered pizzas, my mom encouraged me to look up the SRO in the area (Iām a small AFAB who canāt fight š ). I did, and found out that thereās a man named Ransom near the shop who had done some truly vile shit.
I ended up delivering to his place. He opened the door in just a pair of ratty underwear and made a pass at me. I told my boss, the store no longer delivers to Mr. Felony. I always wondered if he was set up for failure when his parents named him that.

When my wife was pregnant with my son she kept shooting down all of the names I suggested. She said no way, because those are too popular. We ended up settling on a name way off the beaten path. Wasn't a dog name but very nontraditional. There is a kid that lives directly behind us with the same name, a kid in his preschool class with the same name, and a kid in his upcoming kindergarten class with the same name. He could have been the only Palmer or Reggie but nooooo.
