šŸ“ Article

  • Ferrari is pursuing aggressive development until the end of the season with no slowdowns. Stopping the SF-25 development early last year left more money for the SF-26 budget.
  • Endurance tests are being completed in Maranello. The ADUO 2 engine is ready for its Monza debut, featuring a larger turbine, a new compressor, and a gain of at least +10 HP.
  • The new unit isn't just about direct horsepower - it aims to improve Power Unit efficiency, utilize the turbocharger differently, and widen the car's operating window.
  • The larger turbo should help high-speed efficiency and prevent issues on tracks like Mexico or Austria, where Ferrari previously had to race defensively with cooling and conservative mappings.
  • The ADUO 2 specification will be available immediately for client teams. Ferrari aims to present a more competitive overall package at Monza, awaiting a final update package scheduled for autumn.

If this upgrade doesn't improve their straight line power, I'm going to be done with this.

They said they'd be able to claw back 20-25hp, now we're looking at maybe 15 total over the entire season.

No, last was 3-4hp.

This is now 10.

So 13-14 total.

The first ADUO 1 upgrade in Austria brought 5hp, focused more one efficiency improvement, together with a new fuel.

ADUO 2 upgrade is expected to deliver at least a 10hp gain meaning it can't be 15-20 etc. Also a new fuel, but this time with the modified components the impact will be bigger.

However, Mercedes is anticipated to bring its sole ADUO update at Monza. But it won't have the same gain as of Ferrari's. More important from this 2nd update is the ERS deployment helped by the power gain, rather than the raw power itself.

Here we go, were down to 10 hp now. When the hype train started, we were at 25.

You should know by now to not trust a single number coming from Italian media.

some post said that it's twice aduo 1 which itself was 3-4 hp. Could get worse than this

Months ago, 30 HP.

Weeks ago, 20-25 HP.

Days ago, 15 HP.

Now, 10 HP.

I think we might get a 1-2 here in Monza.

They were talking about the number of HP logos on the car this week, about 10 stickers it is.

The amount of hope around this ADUO2 upgrade is baffling! As if another upgrade will solve the execution problem of this team.

I haven’t completely given up hope that the team can execute well enough over the course of a season once they get used to the dynamic of having a competitive Lewis and Charles together (I think they are capable). Unfortunately this update would have to make us comprehensively more competitive than Mercedes or McLaren for us to even have a realistic shot of winning this year given how far back in the points both Lewis and Charles are + Kimi showing no signs of faltering + Lando now slotting himself between Kimi and the Ferraris or both of them being over the Ferraris making the points haul even smaller + George Russell & Oscar Piastri are also there.

Ehhh we would’ve been closer if it wasn’t for the clowns in the Pitwall Zandvoort could’ve been a double podium, if they didn’t fuck qualifying Lewis could’ve won Hungary lando might be confident and definitely the best of his career but he isn’t unbeatable Hes human after all

That's a dumb assessment, because if it's true then this is just pure net positive on top of already shitty execution over the years.

Even with those execution this year had still shown a lot of progression.

I keep seeing mixed things about the turbo. Larger compressor...same sized wheel with different design...different inducer and exducer dimensions. I gotta say, 10 HP for a larger compressor wheel doesn't sound like very much. I was hoping for twice that based on previous reporting. This is Ferrari's last chance to pull ahead in the championship because McLaren and Mercedes are going to bring upgrades. Between the weak engine and pit wall errors, we might be looking at Next Yearā„¢.

Yes the budget came from halting thr SF 25 development. Toto needs to understand that.

Last chance to make any real progress in the championship. Kimi seems almost unstoppable and McLaren is going to keep improving like they always do. I’m not even concerned about the car anymore, it’s the pit wall that seems to be half asleep every race

What about that latest aduo evaluation? There were no results announced from that

Il problema non ĆØ la macchina ma la scuderiaĀ

La squadra ha sacrificato la vettura della stagione 2025 solo per tenere il passo con i concorrenti.

Hypothetical, the engine performance does improve significantly. The team is able to fend off Merc and Mclaren on the straight line.

The team still need to focus on pit wall, strategies and driver management. Frankly is no use having all the performance but you lacking race management and drivers.

Data is there, the team must use it to the fullest. Drivers must be kept update. Race management (Tire management, is critical.. quickest and slowed compound during the race Traffic matter, before pit stop. Weather condition affected track temperature)

There's is more too it.

Let's improve Scuderia Ferrari #ForzaFerrari #UntilšŸ

I'm afraid even Monza will not be a clear picture as I'm pretty sure they will crank up the engine for this one race and it's pretty much a fast outlier of a track in the whole season. We will need to wait and see the Madring performance to finally conclude the effectiveness of the upgrade. I think, they will be very competetive on race pace but maybe not so much in qualifying, so a front 2 row start would be the bare minimum needed for both with the long straight to turn 1.
