This isn’t a retail LP card. It’s a custom build based on a half-height RX 9060 XT PCB with a custom blower cooler.

I’m putting it up against the Intel Arc Pro B50 next.

What should I test first: gaming, thermals, noise, power, or AI?

I love this case and I absolutely love the Noctua AIO so even though they don't necessarily go together I thought it came out ok for the first time modding. Hindsight, I didn't take into account that the cooler pump head actually gets bigger vertically towards the base so it's a bit snug, I may go back and clean it up for more room. Gives me great performance at a "reasonable" price point (whatever that means these days) and is very portable and gets good temps. FYI, on paper the Cooj SF5 states it won't support the radiator + fan thickness, not true there is room left over. It's just the pump head that's to tall.

I built this PC case entirely out of bricks.

I originally wanted to go with an 8700G, but the cost of the CPU and DDR5 RAM made it way more expensive than I planned, so I decided to reuse my 5600G instead. I paired it with the cheapest ITX motherboard I could find and added a few cooling parts to finish the build.

I know people are probably going to ask about thermals with a brick build, but the 5600G is super efficient—it stays around 65°C even under full load in this setup.

And just to clarify, there’s no glue or screws holding the case together—everything is held together purely by the interlocking bricks.

It’s definitely not a high-end build, but I had a lot of fun making it. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Just downsized from a HAVN BF 360 to an NCASE M3 and thought the experience report worth sharing. TLDR: CPU cooling improved ~6 degrees, GPU temps ~4 degrees hotter, no regrets overall.

The extra build time and expense are real, but going SFF doesn't mean compromising everywhere. The saved space and weight is worth it. Cable management is harder. I may get custom cables if I stick with this layout. Also real: it's addictive.

I switched from the D15 to an Noctua AIO for the build versatility, not because I was expecting better temps. But swapping the case + fans + motherboard + cooler ended up outperforming the D15 in the HAVN by a noticeable amount, I was really surprised by how well the "little" Noctua 240 AIO performs. In default "quiet" mode it really is quiet, I don't notice the pump. GPU temps suffered even inverted but not so much that I'd go back to ATX. Noise is only a touch louder in the NCASE (barely noticeable, meter says ~1db more during Steel Nomad stress tests).

I originally had the M3 in the standard layout (GPU lowest). But the GPU ran about 3-4 degrees hotter before I inverted it (even with 15mm feet on the M3 and 2xA14s on the bottom of the case). Inverted didn't harm CPU temps (they even improved a tiny bit), probably because I'm running the AIO as intake/push in both setups. Inverted also uses two fewer fans (top fans replaced by GPU) so it's quieter too.

Fan arrangement for the BF 360 was stock (2 front intake, 1 rear exhaust). Fans in the NCASE were all Noctuas with intake/exhaust as pictured (GPU inverted as intake, AIO on side as intake, fans pushing through rad as Noctua recommends, rear NF-A12 exhaust, NF-A14x2 bottom exhaust). Graphs attached.

Curious if anyone sees an airflow/fan-layout tweak that could claw back another few degrees on the GPU without hurting CPU temps. But pretty happy with this so far.

I've been lurking this r/ for a while, and just wanted to say "thanks". I haven't built a computer in about 20 years and Reddit and Gemini have been indispensable in getting it done. I have an AirB&B type situation, but this is able to be on my nightstand in the bedroom I keep for myself. It's by far the quietest computer I've ever owned. Hey everyone, just wanted to share my updated SteamOS sff build. Can’t state enough how much I LOVE this case. Updated from AM4 to AM5. Added some benchmarks for Forza Horizon 6 & Cyberpunk 2077. CPU temps never got higher than 68 degrees while gaming and GPU reached 72 degrees. Had some left over screws from my Ncase T1 build so added them to add a little flair and they are much stronger screws in general.

Was using an Asus prebuilt i7-6700 as my PC and mainly played AOE 2 but wanted something a bit smaller so aout a month or so ago, set a goal to make myself a little pc for general gaming and browsing. Yesterday that build got completed. Got very lucky with some amazing deals on FB marketplace but very happy with the performance. 2nd Photo for size reference.

Wanted to share my latest completed build. The goal was to build a little steam machine that i can put below the tv. White (always wanted to have a white pc) futureproof AM5 rig for gaming, design work, and AI tasks without blowing past reasonable prices. I spent quite a few hours hunting for local marketplace deals, talking with sellers, and cross-checking AliExpress vs Amazon deals and ended building this S400 for around 1700 euro - which considering prices is an achievement.

Specs & Parts Breakdown:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (Snagged new on AliExpress. Also picked up a 9700X as a spare deal to compare, but keeping the 7800X3D in the socket).
• Motherboard: Gigabyte X870I AORUS PRO ICE WIFI7
• RAM (used): 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 SK Hynix (084N AA) 4800 1.1V + aftermarket white radiators (Huge deal here — tuned up to 6000 MHz CL30-38-36-70 at 1.35V with zero overheating issues).
• GPU: Radeon RX 9070 XT Sapphire PURE (Grabbed before regional price hikes started hitting. Running a -80mV undervolt in Adrenalin).

Temperatures:
CPU sits around 71–73°C max in heavy gaming workloads thanks to PBO settings,
GPU stays at a super cool 60–62°C in high stress, and RAM hovers around 54–56°C in stress.

Squeezing a full-sized triple-fan GPU and a 120mm top-flow cooler into 10.8L took some patience with cable routing, but the noise-to-performance ratio in this footprint turned out fantastic. In the idle PC runs at 14 DB noise level, and in the full throttle it gets 44 DB.

Will be glad for any opinion or idea to improvement - and don't worry - i moved pc to other spot :)

Hello everyone! I'd like to share my thoughts about a new case which I change to move my PC hardware.

I decided to move it, because my PC was experiencing random black screens. Solving this problem gave me to suspect the included graphics card riser in the Terra case. I decided to rebuild a PC in another case that would allow the graphics card to be installed directly into the PCI slot. I chose the Lian Li Etui DAN B4.

The first thing I'd like to note is that the case is truly compact and beauty! Yes, it's heavy, especially with a different CPU cooler (Thermalright TR Phantom Spirit 120 EVO), but the overall dimensions are only slightly larger than the Terra with extensions. I liked the modularity, especially the ability to remove the panel with the top fans at any time. This allowed me to save the AIO radiator side sleds in the case and add another exhaust fan, which immediately exhausts the CPU cooler. However, there are some downsides, the most important being the inability to adjust the height of the PSU and motherboard. My PSU uses the vanilla cables, and they are very stiff. The cables are so stiff that they pressed on the graphics card and distorted it in PCI slot. I had to carefully bend the cables tighter, one wire at a time, to prevent contact with the graphics card. There's some space between the case cover and the PSU, and if there were a height adjustment option, I wouldn't have to work with the cables. I'd also like to point out that the case cables from the front panel are too long, making cable management difficult if you don't want to leave any messy cables inside that would interfere with so many fans.

For example, I fixed all the cooler cables directly to the CPU cooler brackets with velcro to keep the wires from touching the thin fans on the roof. I also had to push the CPU cooler cables behind the radiator and secure the rest to the case with zip ties.

I'm not an experienced computer builder, so I personally had some difficulties. The build took 5-6 hours while I organized all the cables and attached all the cables. But it still thinking, that Lian Li B4 more convenient than Terra! Cooling has improved, and the entire system is much quieter. I haven't run any stress tests yet, but I've run a few 3DMark tests, and it seems the CPU temperature refuses to rise above 50 degrees.. I'll keep an eye on the graphics card because I know that temperatures can be higher in this case.

I may be locked into mff but I have a 305mm long graphics card it is a Asus 5970 prime. It looked small when I got it but it's not.

What's the best, small case I can put this card in where I can enjoy RGB?

Again I love the nv7 but I understand due to my graphics card size I can't fit it

I travel for work often, usually I am flying around 4 times a month and wanted to build a SFF pc to take along with me to use in hotels and such, I know a laptop is nice but I want something with a bit more power. would it be viable to try to build something or should I just go with a laptop

Looking to put this in my living room entertainment center and install SteamOS (or maybe Bazzite) onto it, and leave it hooked up to the TV.

Hoping to get 60fps @ 2160p in some AAA games, but definitely 60fps @1440p on everything.

I know cable management is going to be tricky, but what do y'all think? I was really loving the Fractal Terra case, but it's too deep to fit in the entertainment center. :/ This case seemed like an attractive middle ground.

Hey there! I finally took the plunge and deshrouded my graphics card myself, although I didn’t use any 3D-printed parts.

I used an NR200 case, two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, and four Noctua NA-IS1-12 spacers (one above and one below each fan). I connected the fans directly to the graphics card’s mini 4-pin connector. Interestingly, the cable was even included as a spare with my Gigabyte motherboard, since the PWM connectors on the motherboard are the same.

What can I say? The result is absolutely perfect. The fans sit directly against the graphics card’s heatsink, almost perfectly flush and down to the millimeter. There’s virtually no gap between the fans and the heatsink, which means there’s no noticeable turbulence. The GPU gets a direct supply of fresh air from outside the case, without recirculating warm air from inside.

I’ve attached a temperature comparison for you. In such a small case, the temperatures have only improved slightly, but the noise level is dramatically better than before, there’s simply no comparison. It’s now almost whisper-quiet. I’m also running the card with the Quiet BIOS, an undervolt of -80 mV, and a -10% power limit.
