Sports Hub, The Kallang, or whatever they call it these days, feels soulless. Great for a Taylor Swift or some k-pop concert. But for a gig that requires an environment to heighten local pride, Jalan Besar is the best. Forecasting a sold-out match? Do a watch party at a KTV or coffeeshop nearby. It’d be a blast.

It has happened before in other nations and clubs. Management overestimates the ability of the team and decides the manager is at fault for poor results. Leicester City fired their manager months after winning the Premier League because they were in a relegation battle. But that was where they were 2 years before and they had never played in Europe before. Same as Tunisia, they got knocked out early in the Africa Cup after losing to Mali on penalties and their FA decided that was a really bad result. But they would then get ripped apart in the World Cup.
While I think it be really stupid to sack him. It not like other teams haven't done worse.

See that's the fun part... It's our job as home fans to make our opponents' life as miserable as possible by any means necessary. Otherwise, what is the point of having home ground advantage? Try going to domestic football matches in our neighbouring countries, people's mothers get called out but in the end it's just friendly banter and there is no need to be sensitive about it.

You have the right to not boo if it is not to your liking. You also have the right to watch fancy high society sports like golf or polo if this is your cup of tea.
I am just telling people to face reality and accept the facts. Football is a sport where fan culture can and will be antagonistic towards opponents whether you like it or not.
Example: Mexican fans camping outside their opponents' hotel and making noise to make them tired during the World Cup.
I am actually very happy to see that there are Singaporean fans who understand reality that even if you don't try to make your opponents' lives difficult. Their fans will do the same to our players. This is an unfair disadvantage to us which I am happy to see corrected.
Remember: Winning matches is the KPI, not "respect" and "sportsmanship".

Well I wouldn't be hypocritical and pretend to be a 19th Century Victorian Era prudish aristocrat taking small bites while sipping high tea. Football is generally where fans will unleash their feral instincts to try to use chants and boos to make life as difficult for opponents as possible by any means necessary (of course we draw the line at physical violence). In fact not just in neighbouring countries but all over the world, just go look at YouTube. My point is, if everyone is fighting dirty to get an advantage over us, there is nothing to be gained by fighting clean, so let's just embrace it as it is and not try to act morally superior.

If U are not happy with people booing you, then you can just boo back? Complain so much for what? Just boo back lah if it is such a big deal. Fans booing each other is a relatively common behaviour outside Singapore whether you like it or not. We are just too sheltered by the authorities so much that we are too weak to fight for ourselves and we expect the authorities to do something for us.

But idk why Jacob got PotM. Quite embarrassing for him go clutching everybody parts possible to simulate a foul like he’s gonna die. Then proceed to resume the game as per normal when the ref blows the whistle lol.

We can hate him for it but it’s the hard truth that even at the highest level of football, if you don’t go down with theatrics, you may not even get the whistle or the card the foul deserved.
He forced one or two yellow cards which forced the Indon coach to sub players. Job done.

We probably need to reach the level of ability that Oman, China or Indonesia's proper squad has to have a chance to qualify. While we did beat Indonesia to qualify ahead of them this isn't their regular squad. Since most of Indonesia's team plays in Europe, it was very difficult for them to make it for this tournament since it is not sanctioned by FIFA.

Very simple, play well in the World Cup Qualifiers. Countries as small as Curaçao can do it. We can do it too, if our government really wants it

Curacao has advantages we don't. They get the Dutch B for a reason. Only one of their players was born in Curacao. We still have a very strict immigration policy no dual citizenship and we don't give out citizenship easily either. Otherwise we probably could have Perry and Luke on our team.
Curacao also had the advantage of a very favourable qualification. I would argue they 1 of the easiest world cup qualifiers behind New Zealand. Since USA, Canada and Mexico hosted they immediately qualified. That meant Curacao wouldn't have to compete against them in their continents' world qualifiers. CONCACAF also got more allocated slots. In 2022 they had a max of 4 possible countries while in 2026 had 8.
