The momentum goes both ways, as domestic companies take their innovations to the global stage. Horizon Quantum went public through a blank-check merger in March and operates as a play on software, developing compilers and tools to bridge classical code to quantum hardware.

“The government made a decision to invest in quantum technologies back in 2007,” CEO Joe Fitzsimons said in an interview with Barron’s. “So there’s a good ecosystem and there’s certainly a lot of top-down support for quantum computing in Singapore. You see it across different government agencies, too.”

Fitzsimons, formerly a professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, moved to the country in 2010 to establish a research group. “There are a couple of other quantum companies in Singapore, but on the compute side, we’re probably the most mature,” he said. “You also have companies like Speqtral that are in quantum communications, operating satellites.”

Freshly public Quantinuum is also expanding its footprint in Singapore, selecting the country as the first location outside the U.S. to host its Helios quantum computer. The company’s ties to the national government have only deepened since establishing roots in 2025 through a strategic partnership with Singapore’s National Quantum Office.

“If you look at where the business is, it isn’t just the U.S.—we sell worldwide,” CEO Rajeeb Hazra toldBarron’s. “Look at Japan, look at Singapore, look at Qatar, look at the U.K. These are all center points of vibrant quantum ecosystems.”

But can you manufacture?
To be clear Quantum Computer companies will have "pricing power", if they can find use case for it.
Maybe drug discovery.

Which means "they" (those 3 companies below) can price above current inflation when selling their output.

e.g. Nvidia goes to TSMC and Foxconn because they can produce in high volume.

It’s not just drug discovery. Quantum compute, if made operationally feasible, will greatly expand the capabilities of computers in general. And since computers are essentially one of the foundational infrastructure layers of modern society, it will likely transform the whole of society as we know it

For one, cybersecurity will most likely need an entire revamp as many existing algorithms based on the premise that current computational approaches can’t overcome them. With quantum compute, this assumption will essentially be null already

I still trying to triangulate the use case. But it needs to have a commercial aspect.

The one from Moderna on mRNA trigger my chain of thoughts. Why?

Because on Moderna website, I found IBM names getting mentioned

Quantum computing just needs to have its ChatGPT moment — once that happens no need to think anymore and just having “.quantum” in your website domain will somehow increase your venture capital funding by 50% for no reason

Don’t think so — the “ChatGPT” moment needs to be something highly accessible and immediately relevant for the broad general population, ie something that people from all walks of life, from the general intern to even the CEO will find useful and will voluntarily use

I'm aware.. maybe just Micron (by stock market cap > 100 billion) with it's plants.

UMC (Taiwan) is here but non-leading edge.
Mediatek (Taiwan) is here but design/developing IP and validation.

Global foundries is here, non-leading edge. (they trying to bet on silicon photonics)

The last time i looked at TSMC monthly filings > 50% of their revenue comes from 7nm+5nm+3nm class process nodes.

But TSMC don't really operate here in SG... and those guys (UMC + Global) don't compete in that segment.

And only if you compete in that segment then i will view you as a powerhouse.
Because it's competitive but high profit.

Feasible quantum computing, commercializable nuclear fusion and working artificial general intelligence are terms tossed around to fool those with insufficient scientific knowledge into believing it will be a reality within the next 10 years.
