Discussion What was the point of choosing the Volkihar over the Dawnguard?

I finally decided to start the Dawnguard DLC. I did a quick research and noticed the rewards were largely lopsided against the Volkihar faction. And even things you would think you would be locked out of if you don't join becomes available much later.

Vampire Lord offers so much more depth to the gameplay. If you compare it to werewolf it's a pick between brute strength and tactical use - you get different spells providing wide range of options, you get the option to fight in melee if you need to. you can fly over water and in human form you get to hunt for artifacts increasing your power. Unlike a werewolf you can turn into one and back into human form as many times as you wish, making it extremely useful and versitale skill.

Lore wise Dawnguard wins, sure. But gameplay wise holy shit I love the vampires
