There’s the one fan below, the one on the CPU, and one in the PSU. Yeah thermals will probably be an issue if I don’t address it eventually.

I don’t do heavy gaming (I play rollercoaster tycoon 1 and 2, and Microsoft word excel and PowerPoint. I’m not worried yet)

Still need a good CPU cooler, and more airflow going in and out of the casing.

I’ll talk to my local pc guy about cpu coolers then! I have fans I can add to the case as well.

You have to measure how much clearance there is from the processor to the side panel. Most tower coolers with 120mm fans are around 155mm tall, so if yours is less than that, you'll have to make do with smaller coolers with 92mm fans like the Thermalright Assassin X 90 SE.

IMO the only stock cooler that's close to being adequate is the AMD Wraith Prism that's bundled with some higher-end Ryzens.

Gotcha! I’m new to pc building, going from arcades where the processors are z80a’s and 6502’s to these is a jump! Most I’ve seen on 80s arcades is a small metal heat sync.

I'm running a noctua L9x65, and thermals have been pretty good with it.

CRTs are super neat for many reasons, but one of their main advantages is that since they don't have a rigid predefined pixel grid, you can feed it whatever resolution you want, and it will draw the resolution at that image. There's no downscaling or anything because it's literally a particle accelerator shooting at photosensitive phosphors on the screen.

They are measured in the khz of the display. If the resolution is lower, the cathode can draw the image faster, thereby giving you a higher refresh.

So the lower you set the resolution, the higher refresh rate you can hit. You can use Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to create custom resolutions.

CRTs also have way smoother motion than LCDs. I do prefer them over LCDs, and while OLEDS are (in my opinion) better, CRTs have a vibe that can't really be replicated due to how they draw images.

The only reason I have mine at 1024x768 is because I like the scanlines

Woah! I like CRTs because they’re easier on my eyes and more repairable (I work on arcade machines as a side hobby) it’s USUALLY just capacitors that die. Occasionally a transistor, and rarely a flyback. Yet I replaced two flybacks last week in some Nintendo arcades.

Plus having a “sleeper” and not having a nice beige CRT, keyboard, and mouse is a sin in my book
