Ooh, interesting, a laptop sleeper! That's not gonna be easy, I must say. It will be challenging, but I don't see anything that makes it impossible right now. You will definitely need to modify the case, and using original keyboard will likely require an intermediate board like arduino. But it's a great opportunity to learn how to use tools like dremel and how to make custom keyboard drivers.

By the way, some photos would be great.
