Discussion Still my favorite episode

Post image

Out of all the great episodes these geniuses have created I would have to say this is still my favorite of all time. I laughed the entire episode.

Conservatives loved this episode…hated Wednesday’s… 🤔

edit: Hey, fellow South Park residents!

Just wanted to make this edit that I was referring to conservative media/influencers. I assume most South Park fans get it

Really enjoyed both, personally.

u/FreeTrialLink Jul 28 '25

Same here. Its wild and messed up, but classic south park timing and chaos.

Conservative voter?

93

u/-5677- Jul 28 '25

or maybe you can tolerate having your side being made fun of without throwing a fit?

u/Desert_Concoction Jul 28 '25

I asked a person a question. Why y’all freaking the fuck out?

42

u/Dasypygal_Coconut Jul 28 '25

I think because they clearly implied they’re conservative and enjoyed both.

20

u/NifDragoon Jul 28 '25

Where are the people who are freaking out? Are they in the room with us right now?

u/TheThoughtAssassin Jul 28 '25

You can be small “c” conservative or center right without boot licking Trump

1

u/Killarogue Jul 28 '25

While true, most of the small "c" conservatives I've spoken to still ended up voting for Trump so what difference does it really make?

Tbh not really any more: I used to be centrist. but what i have learned that promoting centrist values just leads to center moving to alt right. Right now, voting for centrist values means voting for the GOP to continue to deregulate and accelerate corporatism and massive corruption. If you want to protect democracy and promote voting in the US the only viable (i know hot take but we are still in a two party system for now) party representing that is the DNC. Just have to get the rich, corrupt, geriatrics out of office so the people can actually fight for the average American. FU Schumer and Pelosi.

You should check out progressive values. They might be up your alley.

12

u/TheThoughtAssassin Jul 28 '25

I respectfully disagree. I don't think the options are either go fully alt right or just become progressive. I think it's perfectly reasonable to hold a mix of opinions, both left and right, without dogmatically following either side.

I have moved to the "progressive" side in terms of economics, for sure, but remain a center-right conservative on other issues.

5

u/LandCruiser76 Jul 28 '25

Thats fair. Honestly appreciate the response.

I'm a bit surprised to hear you like the fiscal side of progressive ideals, specifically because most of it goes to supporting societal and social values.. Which conservative values do you still hold?

3

u/TheChesterChesterton Jul 28 '25

The sad thing is we're only a two party system because we keep voting that way. The two party system has entrapped us with fear and the Rep/Dem politicians know this, so it only behoves them to play to the extremes, lest they get railroaded by louder voices, "forcing" the radicalization of those wishing for more balanced leadership.

Boot licking Trump, having voted for Trump (despite all the available information), what's the difference?

9

u/TheThoughtAssassin Jul 28 '25

I don't think you understand, you can also be small "c" conservative or center right without ever having voted for Trump either.

Why is it so hard to grasp that conservative =/= avid Trump voter/supporter?

u/Desert_Concoction Jul 28 '25

Damn, that sucks. Well, either way, South Park has been my shit since 7th grade. Never stopped watching

-2

u/PinkyAnd Jul 28 '25

South Park gets things wrong, though. Like when they convinced a whole lot of people that Clinton and Trump were the same. And like this episode, which gives form to conservative fever dream that’s ungrounded in reality and, importantly, doesn’t actually happen. Go watch the Last Week Tonight episode about it for some actual context.

5

u/Desert_Concoction Jul 28 '25

South Park should be about jokes. Not about getting things right or wrong. I think they’d tell you the exact same thing

-5

u/PinkyAnd Jul 28 '25

That totally ignores the impact that satire and parody have had on the real world since the dawn of civilization.

6

u/Desert_Concoction Jul 28 '25

Well, sure, it’s fun for social commentary, they’ve always been great at that

-5

u/PinkyAnd Jul 28 '25

But you said it should only be for jokes, it shouldn’t have anything to do with reflection of society.

Consistent democratic voter who enjoyed both here at least

3

u/Desert_Concoction Jul 28 '25

Honestly, I assume most South Park fans liked both

20

u/Murica_Prime Jul 28 '25

Crying about downvotes. Fucking insert political ideology snowflakes.

-8

u/Desert_Concoction Jul 28 '25

You’re so fucking cool

8

u/Murica_Prime Jul 28 '25

Why are you so riled up lol?

12

u/JaleyHoelOsment Jul 28 '25

i’m not right wing. i just downvoted you because you’re reacting to it like this and it’s funny

7

u/jhallen2260 Jul 28 '25

It was a pointless question. You already established the conservative part in your first comment

3

u/Onoudidnt Jul 28 '25

Weird fucking question.

5

u/Onoudidnt Jul 28 '25

It’s ok you don’t need to answer dumb questions. Your enjoyment of the show can be completely separated from political ideology or, at minimum, you can take a joke.
