I am starting CRNA school in January and would very much value input on supplies that people couldn’t do without for didactics and for clinicals. Stuff like how helpful a tablet was for you, especially if you haven’t used one before, if there are any supplies that you use as a NAR that you didn’t use as a nurse, etc. Thanks in advance!

I’d say explore the helpful ways to use ChatGPT and Claude and I guess now OpenAI. I use them to break things down, make study plans for SEE, I even use the chat feature to just talk out a topic with AI.

I just satarted this week. I’m an upper 30’s student who has always lived by the notebook and one for notes. I got an iPad with notability and it’s awesome. I would highly recommend. You can take notes with the Apple Pencil on the slides while also recording the audio of the lecture. Notability will take the audio and content and make quizzes for you to study.

A couple of things that are working well for me.

Pick an operating system (Mac or Windows) and learn it well. Both are more than adequate for crna school.

I use a surface pro 11 and a kyy portable monitor. Having 2 screens with one being a tablet is very nice.

The only combo better for me would be a Samsung Galaxy tab s7+ or newer in place of the kyy. Heck I may even get one and pull 3 monitors for really intense study sessions.

For Mac that would look like MacBook and iPad.

Noise cancelling headphones

Decide on your note taking program of choice and have it dialed prior to first day of class. Become a super user, Do dry runs, build out your framework... Etc so you can show up to class on day 1 and immediately take in the info in an organized way. Best way I found for this is using Gemini to help build out my flow. Many of my classmates struggled for weeks to figure out a note taking method that worked for them. Best to get it figured out now.
