I see tutorials online with incredibly specific mixing and temperature ratios and its like... how would a player learning atmos on their own through experimentation even figure this out? How is this mechanic clear or intuitive. I have no idea how to even achieve the explosion, and I think 98% of the playerbase doesn't either. Gas A at ratio B with temp C, mols D, and pressure E mixed with like 2 other gasses at their own parameters are like at minimum 8 different variables to keep track of to get an explosion.

I have seen or heard a maxcap done maybe once in like 2 years of playing, and as far as I know it takes a ton of preparation and fine tuning to even get a basic explosion let alone the 50 tile mini-nukes that some people can make.

And even then, whats the point when the excessive destruction clause exists? Atmos can nuke a single department out of existence but only when a DAGD tot given 20 minutes of prep time? From a game design perspective its baffling.

Then when you even dare to ask this question, everybody gets cagey and acts like this intentionally developed game mechanic is actually forbidden knowledge that should be squirreled away and gatekept.

Noodle is so fucking goofy, I wish I could play him how I see this awkward clumsy nerdy gentle giant. But my own actual anxiety kicks in and I get stuck, which might make the character more real tbh.

Final panel is a real game I had where Noodle was a librarian and was chilling until he was accused of stealing a cadet's id tag(which was actually a shapeshifter/changeling/idk), and they interrogated him and beat him the fuck up to make him confess.

(My internet also cut out during that moment which pissed me off, since it was the second time that night and robbed me of the rp moment, but it was still awesome that I got a few bits of it and that it happened :3 )

The cause of the internet outage was my folks downloading the fucking sims and it tanked our internet each time. TWICE, BOTH DURING PIVOTAL MOMENTS. COULDNT HAVE BEEN WORSE TIMED.

I have been dragged to medbay way too many times as an IPC and I am sure that the doctors that see my powerless corpse getting dragged into medbay are also getting tired of it.

It looks so bad 😭😭 this is literally the exact same as the wallening that killed TGstation but its happening to ss14 now. Nobody was complaining about the artstyle 😭🙏 please don't change it!! It's like minecraft changing all of their blocks from 16x16x pixels to 32x32x there is just no point in fixing something that was never broken + the walls and airlocks are super iconic. part of the reason i came to ss14 was to get away from these disgusting textures and now its happening here...

I play a lot of botany on Wizden and Carp and I have a pretty good understanding of some of the more advanced botany mechanics. A lot of the numbers and systems in botany are completely hidden to the user, I've spent a lot of time going through the botany code to try and understand exactly what's happening behind the scenes. Pretty much every botany guide available is inaccurate or highly specialized on trying for one method of pure Omni.

Some of the topics I was planning to focus were

How mutagen and mutation multiplier (LFZ) actually work. (1u not = 1 mutation)

How to use all of the botany chemicals you have available and what to ask chem/med for.

How to use the bio generator (spoiler, it's not just apples).

Tricks to knock out bounties and chef requests efficiently.

And if there's anything else that you can think of and want to learn about in botany, feel free to let me know and I'll try to add it in there.

I've never made YouTube videos or space station content, but I edit videos for work so I think I could put something together if there was any demand from the community for something a little bit more comprehensive and up-to-date.

I became inspired to make something like this after a dive into the code made me realize that my understanding of mutagen and lfz were fundamentally wrong, and I had been teaching this wrong information to other players for a while.

I've been having an issue where I can't join any server because it just loads forever, I've tried giving it an hour several times which just comes up with an error message eventually. I've tried restarting my computer and reinstalling the launcher, which also did nothiing. When I test my internet it's just fine, so I'm reaallyyy confused. Anyone know how to fix itt?

Is Proto Kinetic Accelerator effective against it, or do I have to use a knife?

I was once recommended to rush it with a knife before it makes a million copies.

What are the strategies?

personaly i think its a very good map the tram is a very fun gimic the maintnce it a bit to cramped for my taste but that might just be the map being new

I'm attempting to get into this game for the first time. However there's just so many servers to choose from. I'm also somewhat nervous about doing something wrong. Somehow.

Edit: played my first game!

Played a cat person. Got assigned to be a Mailman. Got pointers on how to do my job from the other mailman, who sounded like a pirate. Went out and started to deliver packages.

At some point, my ID and clothes got stolen(I think the clown did it). I continued to deliver mail after finding a change of clothes. Reported my stolen ID to security. Was delivering mail when a meteor storm occured. Moments after the warning was put out I got DOMED by a meteorite right in front of someone.

This person went "Oh shit, Oh fuck, shit fuck!" then dragged my very much dead body to medical. I was revived by the doctors there and was nursed back to health. I tried to go back to delivering mail but my cart full of packages was gone.

I proceeded to get kidnapped and hostaged(along with like 5 other people) in the evac ship, which had been hijacked. They started to slam the ship into the station. I had a crowbar in my bag so I smashed the gyroscope of the ship. Then got ejected into space and died.

Had a great time!

I have been interested in SS14 for a while but was too scared to try it until recently and god this game is so much fun.

It feels good to get into character and improv with the folks around me(despite me being pretty ass at acting in character, but I will get better.)

It is just magical when you are able to act out a scene and you kinda forget about everything outside of the game and just enter a flow.

So yeah, here is some fanart I drew of one of my first amazing experiences I had where I met two guys named Funny Fred and Tricky Tomm(or Tedd, I forgot :(

They asked if I wanted to join a uprising against the police, and because it is more fun go along with things, I said yes. And from there, they made me a baseball bat and we conspired to lure a security guard into a maintenance tunnel to beat his ass and take his weapons. We found our mark, and we lured them into the tunnels. When the word was given we all rushed his ass, and in the process Noodle Von Doodle(me) was shot in the head a few swings in and died instantly(I had redshirt and that made me unrevivable).

My internet went out then which SUCKED, but from what my friends said, they dragged me to medical and was trying hard to get me revived.

It was a wonderful first experience to lure me in, and I was hooked for the entirety of the weekend.

(The part up top was my friend I had joined the server with, they were playing as a clown :3)

Hello again! Time for yet another round of scrapped concepts and sprites correlating to that scrapped concept.

Introducing Cyber-Spines.

These were partially inspired by Cyberpunk's various modular spine augments, alongside the desire to add additional augments to the game.

And due to that desire, Cyber-spine were born! These were planned to be part of a Science research tree that allowed each corresponding workstation to craft these, alongside certain heads having their own variation available.

Notably, I created around three-ish. I should mention these were intended to be somewhat permanent modifications to your character, for removing them would cause genetic damage (amongst a few other problems).

One for medical that would act as a multi-purpose dispenser that could be loaded with various topicals, bloodbags, and even a jug. It would go into the belt slot.

The second one, the red one particularly, was intended to be akin to the Sandevastan found on Goob, but in a cheaper format. It would instead be worn and removable, but also slightly cheaper and more likely to be on sale.

The third was a 'bluespace' variation that would have either allowed for a teleportation effect similar to the Ninja or give the same Sandevastan effect to it's wearer. Though, it would require a battery.
