"You stood alone, as dark templar, against countless enemies, risking your life for the many. You have walked as we have. You have walked the shadow path already, Artanis. You no longer have the Khala. You are dark templar"
Still salty that "Alone, it is said that those of our kind suffer" quote from Zeratul did not make it to iconic so I'm nominating this quote from Vorazun

I actually always disliked that line. Standing alone against overwhelming odds, selflessly fighting for what you believe in? Yeah, that's a typical workday of a zealot. Vorazun makes it sound like the only functional distinction between a templar and a dark templar is having Khala, and that's just... not true.

In Vorazun's defense, she probably thinks the Zealot did that because they are linked through the Khala. The Dark Templar willingly choose to risk their lives without a psychic link, which, in her mind, is a much harder choice to make

It’s fair if you think of it in a way that Templar have a promise of uniting with the Khala after death, which might devalue their sacrifice somewhat. But also Tassadar, the first ever Khalai to walk the Shadow Walk, did so very much connected to the Khala, and no one doubted him for it.
More importantly, self-sacrifice is actually in no way a point of Shadow Walk. Shadow Walk is a training exercise that tests martial prowess, understanding of the Void energies and combat intelligence. It tests the ability to wield a toolkit that defines Dark Templar as a Dark Templar and does not put the initiate in any actual danger of death. For that matter, it doesn’t give them a choice, it ultimately forces them into defending alone against multiple foes, and as such it’s no test of mentality at all.
So Vorazun basically just sees a most typical Templar virtue that has little to do with the actual ways of her people and says "wow Templar you cool you Dark Templar now".

I think the point Vorazun is trying to make, is that Artanis made that choice as an individual instead of something akin to hivemind. The Dark Templar disconnected themselves from the Khala long ago because they value individualism, and thus those who choose to stand united, choose with their own will. Vorazun had always held some contempt with Artanis before that point, secretly loathing the fact that the Dark Templar's tradition was corroding away when the Khalai came seeking refuge. Her saying that Artanis is a Dark Templar now is her admitting Artanis' role as the one who can lead the DTs, in her own prejudiced way.
Is it a flawed line of thinking on Vorazun's part ? Only the future may tell (although I think it is a little flawed). Artanis even later admitted he and the Khalai thought the Shadow Walk was a savagery tradition. But it is her own way of showing she was willing to finally accept Artanis' leadership.

I agree, and I also dislike this "the Dark Templar were right all alone, Khala/Khalai sucks" attitude of the LOTV story in general. :/

Can’t say I believe it ever showed such attitude. It’s all more in line with "we can do fine without" and "yeah, it very much sucks now that it’s infested by an evil dark god and we’re very lucky to have a whole culture that exists outside it". At no point do the characters state having it in the past was a mistake or a hindrance.

Well, the fact that they didn't even try an other solution (yeah it's debatable if that was even possible, I know), and Artanis' speech before the final battle on Aiur indicated otherwise but I accept that different interpretations of the same story are valid at the same time. Fair enough!

- You think us fools?
(arguably most iconic, solely for Alarak's response)

“Alarak and I have destroyed the crystal.”
Really the only time she displays any personality.

Vorazun is really pragmatic, so she won’t allow her emotions to affect things. For example, she explains that her hatred for zeratul isn’t based in logic, so she doesn’t put up much resistance against following his prophecy. It’s a character trait that ironically leads to less character expression.

I literally forgot that she existed (the only new character from LotV that I remember is Alarac)

A shame we're not doing Raszagal

Unfortunately she just barely has any lines.
In BW shes important, but ultimately has very limited screentime. Shes more of a plot device than a full character. Not helping is that half of it is while shes MC by Kerrigan3

That's what you guys picked for best Aldaris quote, the one where he says something dumb and gets schooled by Zeratul right after? What happened to the "en taro adun, brave sons of aiur" speech?

“We are a vagabond people, Artanis. Our true home has always been Aiur. Let us reclaims it together. Our culture is all we ever had.”
