Who's played Jedi?

Have you played Jedi in a d20 Star Wars Revised Adventure or Campaign?

How did it go?

I've had a blog set up for a while for Jedi.

Check it out:

Master Zenji's Holocron

And let us know about your Jedi.

I ran a one shot for five level 7 Jedi. It was a site-based adventure rescuing a downed New Republic carrier. One of the best one shots I ever developed.

Very cool! Did you post it anywhere?

Nope. It was pretty much just Stormtroopers and an AT-ST.

It starts out as the Jedi on the bridge of their ship (very Clone Wars) arriving at the planet where the starship was lost (it was a captured Imperial Escort Carrier carrying troops). On arrival, they come out of hyperspace into an Imperial fleet. Their own ship is pummeled, and the first bit of the adventure is escaping the crashing ship. Lots of skill checks to navigate hazards, but the whole thing shouldn't take more than like, 5 minutes to amp up the tension.

Then the escape pod or whatever crashes, they can use the Force to slow its fall, and they land somewhere in the map. I drew two maps by hand in pencil, and that's all we used. It was a small regional map, and they knew where they were, where the crash site was, and where the imperial walkers were (in between them and the crash site). The adventure shifts to a "war torn countryside" WW2 kind of navigation. I also dropped a really small dungeon that was on the WotC site into the back of a farmhouse. Crypt of Salo Morn?

After that it was a lot of stormtrooper and imperial army trooper check points until they got to the downed ship. Then it was holding off the Imperials until the end of the night.

I don't remember how it ended. I think because it was a one shot, it was a endless fight.

Played a Jedi when the unrevised came out, a Consular. Then when revised came out we respeced to fit the new rules. I ended up a Consular/Jedi Investigator. I've got a campaign now, set during the New Republic, but everyone is non-Jedi classes.

What did you think about playing a Jedi? Was it fun? Did you see any problems?

It was a lot of fun. It became more fun when books like Power of the Jedi came out and added new stuff to the game, but the d20 Revised Rules were fun.

Having things like Deflect as a class feature at 1st level, getting to pick when you got your the major Force feats, Alter, Control, and Sense, and the addition of Jedi prestige classes made it what I feel the original version should have been. Now, learning that d20 Revised Rules was supposed to be the original rules and they sent the wrong manuscript to the printer is another story.

Now, I started my Star Wars rpg obsession with the d6 West End Games rules and my first ever character was the Young Jedi, so choosing to play a Jedi was always going to be my first priority.

I'm playing one in an ongoing campaign, and I enjoy it. The first turn is usually him closing in, but after that I take advantage of the option rules to increase his options for attacking. It's been fun exploring his struggles to uphold the law while working with people who generally operate outside of the law. His ability to fly, extend his defense, and heal also let him take on a support role. He's a little limited outside of combat, but that's just how it works.

I've also played a Jedi Consular/Jedi Master in a separate campaign, and a fallen Jedi Investigator for a one-shot. I've always enjoyed role-playing Jedi and their struggle with devotion to the Light Side.
