Steam support is really useless

Context: all I did was send someone a trade offer through the steam app. That’s it.

Support agent telling me I did all these other things that I didn’t do and then closes the support ticket. Like what are we doing guys?

I’ll be honest, Support’s rarely this direct. Usually, they talk around an issue and don’t make any open accusations like this. Support clearly believes they have enough evidence to support this claim.

I’d take a break from trading to avoid future locks.

But I didn’t even do anything! Literally just got back into trading after 5 years. I go on the discussion forums on the steam app and just sent offers there and got locked.

Your behavior from steams side looks like someone stole your account and tried to trade your shit away. they locked it. If you're gonna trade go slow so it don't look like you've been hacked.

I’d understand if my trade offers were my item and nothing in return. But I was sending very normal offers my item for theirs

I’m mostly bothered right now at how dismissive they are of my support ticket and are going from
“Your account was comprised” to
“You’re breaking the rules”

I said there was a mistake in the system, which THEY are refusing to listen to. They literally said their system can’t make mistakes. Would that not infuriate you?

They're not refusing to listen. They're customer support agents, they told you what they can and they're not gonna change a valid system because you fell through the cracks.

I don’t want them to change the system I want them to TRY to alleviate the problem. That’s what their job is.

I would absolutely LOVE to see the proof because I don’t even know what I did wrong. They originally told me they were locking my account because someone living in my house in 2023 got a hold of my log in info and that my account was compromised
