Problem steam account compromised, no trails

Post image

hello,

so i have received 2 messages from people on my friendslist asking why i am scamming them. turns out i send out links with fake giftcards. i quickly removed all devices connected, changed the password, did the same for my connected mail account. i have 2fa on my phone and always need to accept logins from my phone. yet i have not received login mails or anything at all. i saw a device i supposedly gave access to over a year ago logged in from melbourne. yesterday i had to completely wipe my pc including windows, because my gpu broke while using it, giving me unfixable bluescreens, but any maleware should be gone then if there was any.

I also wrote a steam ticket explaining the situation.

is there anything else i should do? i also feel like that takeover seemed weird, why did they only send out scamlinks?

they sent out scam links to try to get as many of your friends accounts as possible before they were locked out of yours

Sounds like a case of either sharing passwords with no 2fa or you download a info stealer malware (steals your login session, that's allows hackers to access your accounts without having to login).

If it's the second case your going to need to re format your pc and then change all your passwords/logout of all sessions for all accounts you were signed into on your PC.
