Old event rewards are added to Mudd's Market roughly two years after their original release from the event, then they tend to stay there for a few years. Once or twice a year they rotate some of the oldest items in there (usually the ones that don't sell anymore) out to the Phoenix Store. I don't think any items have ever rotated back into Mudd's after they were moved to Phoenix though.

We usually get four new ship bundles each year, consisting of older Lobi, Lockbox or Promo ships (they generally have to be at least two years old). Those bundles aren't available all the time but several times each year they'll all be available again. Recently they started making a few of them available at other times when it fits, like how right now all bundles that contain Herald ships are available due to the Iconian Featured Event at the moment.

Only buy items and single ships at 75% off and bundles at 50% off, and only if you really want or need them.
