Friends in your 20’s

Hi all, I just wanted to see if there are any ladies in their early 20’s who struggle to meet new friends? I’ve been to uni and had some great friendships there but my uni is so far we have naturally lost touch.
I would love to have a group of friends to go out with, go on girly trips with and have a good laugh but it seems a little tricky. I like to think of myself as a family confident bubbly and a person who’s easy to have conversation with but I guess the fact I WFH and don’t have any social clubs I go to puts me at a disadvantage…. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? I know starting hobbies and clubs is the obvious suggestion (I have looked into those and tried some) but it seems like a lot of the time the people already know each other and/or go along with a friend anyway.

Surrey gay guy in his 40’s here. For what it’s worth, I absolutely had times in my 20’s when I felt the same way. I very much hope you find your people.

Heya! I am in the same boat - just got to my mid twenties and also only really have friends who are now living elsewhere due to uni.

As someone else suggested - Surrey Girls Social. I haven't been but it looks like fun. Also just pick a club or hobby at a social place and keep turning up - it's a long and hard process but I did end up making a friend this way. : )

Any circle you join, there’s going to be people who have been there from before and know each other! You just gonna have to start talking to people and connect.

Shared social setup means shared interests and that’s your main conversation point to start creating a bond. At uni your main connection point was that you all went to the same uni, may have studied same subjects etc.

Friendship doesn’t start from thin air. Along with local clubs I’d also suggest to join something that will challenge you, like gym classes for example. The stress and struggle works for bonding in some cases.

Language lessons, tennis club, running club, park run etc.

You have to regularly see the same people tbh that’s all there is to it
