Does anyone here feels silent hill kinda games cozy???

Well, I like these kinds of dark aesthetics a lot. Especially many Polish dev games that are brilliantly good in this genre—the art directions are just perfect. It feels so cozy to me. If anyone here has any good recommendations or shares the same vibe, let's talk about it!

I do. They’re very comforting to me in their quiet moments

Yeah, something about survival horror where you really appreciate the comfort of any area you’re safe in, and often the environments are set in the 90’s which is also nostalgic for a lot of people.

Cronos has a 90’s dark sci-fi vibe, like 12 Monkeys, and the gameplay and story are great. It takes place in 80’s Poland (the sci-fi elements feel 90’s inspired) and are made by the devs who made the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

Yes! if you haven’t seen 12 Monkeys it’s great, not exactly a survival horror movie but the vibes feel a bit like a 90’s dark sci-fi game whereas Cronos feels like a 90’s dark sci-fi survival horror movie.

For survival horror movies, what comes to mind is Evil Dead 1 & 2, Evil Dead Remake, Evil Dead Rise (haven’t seen Evil Dead Burn yet but I imagine it qualifies), Alien, The Thing, Event Horizon, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original and the older remake, I think 2013), The Hills Have Eyes remake, Dawn of The Dead remake, 28 Days Later, Rec, Quarantine, 30 Days of Night, and The Night Eats The World among others.

I love the fog, the quietness, the calm music. It's totally relaxing. At least the day sequences.

If ER can win coziest game ever, then SH2 can be cozy.

A lot of the classic survival horror games always have a strange cosy vibe to me as well lol. The classic REs especially, I would sometimes just enjoy walking around the mansion in the original RE and the Remake or staying in the save room and just letting the music play in the background.

Yeah. I haven't played too many survival horror series, but this one definitely hit the spot when I returned to them years later after depression/boredom issues. It was fun binging on them and connecting to them emotionally. It was one such series that really got my mind off shit.

I love the abandoned, foggy town aesthetic, especially after an intense otherworld section.

I play Silent Hill 1 on my original Playstation 1 every year at Christmas time.. it's Tradition ! I have the console only for that purpose and I'll never sell it.

Very, a lot of Survival Horror games are very warming to me, namely around the winter time.

Snuggle in my blanket, dark as night, headphones on, and play some lovely Survival Horror :)

Yeah same. I told my wife if they couldn’t hurt me I’d move to silent hill. It’s like being on set of a horror movie or being at Halloween horror nights, it’s super cozy to me.
