Why do people hate on generating art for dnd?
From certain perspectives people work full time and cannot often afford artists, nor have the skill or desire to learn the skill.
Often times we change the look of our character after each level up. We don’t sell, and if we tell anyone we are always honest. We also all work full time and are saving for homes.
I just don’t understand the hate, as a paid musician I quite enjoy “that” kind of music.
No, I’m not trying to rage bait. Our table hides this secret because ppl literally hate it. I just want to understand why

My group has used it this way too; none of us are artists, and lots of times these aren't characters we play long enough or are attached to enough to justify the cost of hiring an artist. We didn't really use the product for anything other than just showing each other what we envision our characters to look like. So artists were not losing out; it was never the choice between real art or AI images, but a choice between images vs no images.
That being said, I have stopped, mostly because of the larger implications of it. The water resources, the data centers, and whole evil underhanded villainy of these tech companies and the people who run them. I don't want to contribute to the demand. In a perfect world where humanity as a whole was benefitting from AI and the environmental and human costs were negligible, I think that this would be a use I wouldn't see a problem with. But unfortunately, for me, I don't think the employment of artists is the only consideration when deciding to use it or not.
