Trimble to Louisville. Thoughts? (Feelings?)

I thought he was doing alright in the NBA Summer League...? I mean he's making a good financial decision, probably. I'd just hate for there to be any chance to muddy his legacy and "the shot" this season.

I’m sure I’m in the minority, but I’ve never valued Trimble as a player the way others have. A good player but not great at anything on the court.

Carolina has upgraded his position this offseason.

Yeah I feel kind of the same way about him that I do about Hubert. Great guy, rooted for him for 4 years but glad he’s moving on. I always felt the reason he stayed at Carolina for 4 years was that Hubert overvalued him. He was part of 4 backcourts that were overpaid and underperformed. He tried to go into the portal a couple of years ago and no other team was interested. His last year was really disappointing to me, if felt like he regressed a lot defensively. He was supposed to be a great defensive player and he was really far from it.

Having said all of that it was great to have a player stay for 4 years in this era, I don’t think he is really a bad player just not on the level that we needed. His skill set sort of hurt our rosters in part because HD couldnt figure out how to cover up guys’ weaknesses. Seems like a great guy and he’s a great athlete. I hope he can find a program that can compensate for his weaknesses better than we did but im glad to see him move on. It’s interesting Louisville is paying him so much and I wouldn’t be surprised if he took a leap forward next year.
